Recently saw a query with Axxess regarding their PPPoE sessions timing out every 52 hours.
The behaviour is that the PPPoE session/connection disconnects every 52 hours and then immediately reconnects.

Its likely barely noticeable to a lot of users, though clearly visible in routers WAN logs, and it can of course affect some real-time applications.

Axxess support advised that "this is the provider's equipment designed to function like that. This is across the Openserve ONTs."

Does anyone else on OpenServe, whether on Axxess or especially other ISPs, notice the same behaviour?

8d 07:13:19 is my openserve uptime, so is probably more them dropping sessions.

Assuming I know which ISP you're using :p But which OpenServe ONT model is that on?

Saw the 52-hour issue with a Nokia ONT, so thats interesting.
Which model is yours, or do they only use one model across all OpenServe Nokia deployments?

Thanks for the test account offer - I'm not able to test with it at this stage, but may take you up on it when able.

I will try and dig it up, it's in a network cabinet.
It was installed just over 2 years ago, so relatively new.

Your ONT has nothing to do with your PPP session, if the ONT has to be re-provisioned every 52hrs that's a different story.

Is the model the Nokia G-240G-E by any chance?
Another user on the forum has that one, and is experiencing the same 52hr PPPoE session reconnections.

Ja I initially thought their explanation sounded odd, but is the the 52hr ONT re-provisioning thing a reasonable possibility?
