Hi there...

Is anyone else experiencing a extreme loss of speed today, or is that just me?
 
My account has also been running a bit slow today. Got about 50kbps while updating League of Legends. Didn't know if it was simply shaping or not.
 
There are no general issues currently.

Shaping was removed at around 17:52 today, as the network is quiet
 
OK so VB is more hicky than usual. Got connected on IS for now.

Will OpenWeb move to MTN Buisness anytime soon ?

I have a Uncapped Express account with Axxess (same as OpenWeb After Hours Uncapped ADSL 10Mbps unshaped) - however its quite clear that it is in-fact now shaped - and I'm rather upset - I don't expect much from Axxess to correct this but would gladly move if OpenWeb will either remain on IS or will commit to keeping this unshaped.

No we will not.

Internet Solutions is a superb backbone provider, offering low latency (with nodes in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban going live soon). They also offer the best uptime, and superior contention ratio based services.

To be honest, since axxess and afrihost moved away from IS, it has been going wonderfully for us. Full linespeed throughout the day and 200kB/s international. UK ping is below 200 constantly and SSL runs maxes out no issues.
 
Can't say I've had any complaints about IS in the last week. Been running better than I've ever seen IS run. In the past I would have disputed the contention rations a bit, but not now. Latency on IS has also always been absolutely superb. My latencies to EU never go over 300, not even in business hours, which is pretty amazing.
 
Anyone using Vanilla uncapped? What are the main differences between it and the Standard - if I only use P2P after hours will my line run full speed during office hours with http/s ?
 
ALL shaping across the board was removed at 18:00 tonight as the network has spare capacity.

Dunno but I'd imagine it would be OK after hours. Std is fine even during biz hours so I'd imagine vanilla would be fine after hours.

@MrBeep: I think perhaps 6 different levels of uncapped (incl gold unshaped) is a bit too much...creates confusion.
