Ahhh yes that was last night. I mentioned something about a usage tracker yesterday on the CP that went unanswered.

Just had a thought tho - I'm on Gold and the other person who replied was on Standard. Howcome he was getting such good speeds? Or is it related to line speed? (1meg for me, 4 for him)

Hey guys, anybody torrenting from Cape Town at the moment? How's your speed?
I'm getting between 20 and 40KB/s on my 1 meg line at the moment (17:45). [On a VERY WELL seeded torrent]
(for comparison: last night I was getting about 150)
I know torrents are the most heavily shaped protocol but it's long after work hours (for CT on a Friday
Need to know if it's just me.
If you aren't using news servers, you deserve to get slow torrents. Keep the content local, and keep the ISPs happy.

I have SabNZDB installed. I see I need a server. What would be the best (and most affordable) choice for this? and after the server is taken care of, where do I find content?

http://www.nzbsa.co.za/ for nzbs, binsearch.info for things not on nzbsa.
news.is.co.za as the server, make sure you set it for 1 connection per 50kB/s ---> Eg: 4meg line should use 8 connections, 10 meg should use 20.
All local. All free. Full speed almost always.
Get a newsdemon block account for content older than a year.

You dont need a server to use news servers, any pc, laptop will do the job. 
Edit: or you mean server as in provider? news.is.co.za is plenty good enough unless you want to pull stuff older than 200+ days.
