Make sure that you're using an IS DNS server, otherwise it won't work! Alternatively use a static IP for the news server...News servers are not working at all (news.is.co.za)

Hi Aquadyne,
There are no network issues currently. The network is running well below capacity, and everyone has been unshaped since Friday at 19:00.
Kindly contact Telkom on 10210 to further troubleshoot
A second restart fixed it, this is weird, I need to restart my router a lot on this account.
Is this my router, telkom or Openweb? Anyone else experience similar issues?

I struggled for half the weekend as well. Speeds cane back up late Saturday. I'm not understanding this router restart issue that has crept up. It's been fine but now I need to restart to maybe get my speeds back. It should just work.
If speeds magically improve after a restart, it more than likely points to a Telkom or router fault.
When you restart, you are restarting the session at Telkom. We would always suggest you switch off for no less than 30 minutes so that Telkom resets the session completely.
Alternatively you may contact them on 10210 and log a fault
why has the router been fine uptil now? i will definately monitor the situation.
Routers and lines break, like all technology.
It is either a router or Telkom fault.
How does one narrow that down to see which it is? IE, tracert to somewhere can show latency at exchange- would a slow initial hop mean it's the router?
