I wasn't downloading anything and couldn't open simple international sites like Facebook.... So I don't see a connection here.

There is absolutely no doubt about the fact that the less you pay, the higher your contention ratio (the more people you share with). We have never denied this, we in fact have discussed this many times before on this very thread and forum.

But you weren't open about it either. If it has a higher contention than Standard Uncapped then it shouldn't be marketed as Standard Uncapped.

Just the way my thought process works.

It is marketed as Standard Uncapped (Love Edition). It is not marketed as Standard.

It has the same values as Standard with a slightly higher contention ratio.

Where is that stated in the promotion? No details are provided in comparison to Standard Uncapped, or in your terms. Therefore it's pretty much false advertising.

You've basically said that if we don't ask about it, that we'll be left believing that we purchased a fully functional Standard Uncapped account at a discount.

Kindly email [email protected] the next time this happens, as we would need to investigate this for you

I've emailed support earlier. No response as yet. Let's see what happens. To be quite honest, I would prefer to have my issue be dealt with publicly. I don' think I am being unreasonable in what I am asking, and I feel I have been more than patient.

By the way, according to the invoices I get each month I'm signed up for (1Mbps Standard Uncapped Promotion).

Nowhere does it say "Love Edition" also, I'm pretty sure it wasn't called that when I signed up for it in September 2012.

Also surely Standard Uncapped with Higher Contention = Vanilla Uncapped???

Or am I missing something?

Generally, the accounts that have a second name (Love, Orange etc) have a higher contention ratio. This has been discussed before. People's opinions differ, I cannot relate as I am not on that type of package. Also, if I remember correctly, the "love" edition was not available back then (Sep 2012).

No it does not.

It is a Standard Uncapped (Promotion). Your edition is a Promotion, which is one of the older editions.

It has an identical profile to Standard Uncapped, with the relevant priorities that Standard offers with a higher contention. This is why we do not call it Standard Uncapped.

I'm afraid we cannot resolve an issue publically, as we require user sensitive information.

You can however PM me with the details so that I can take a look.

Where does it say that on the promotion?

I believe the heading was Standard Uncapped ADSL at Give-away prices!
not Standard Uncapped ADSL with higher contention at Give-away prices!

Please PM me your ADSL username, as I am blindly commenting currently.

You are more than likely on a lower contention ratio due to the loyalty rewards that we hand out every few months.

What should the normal shaping of HTTP downloads and browsing during business hours on a 1Mb Standard Uncapped account be?

Just curious since shaping during the day on my Standard Uncapped promo account has gotten so bad
that I often have to use my backup capped accounts.

Bro you can't expect a promo account to perform exceptionally... on all their advertising they advise if you want to use your line during the day upgrade. I am on Gold Orange edition and get half my line speed for P2P while browsing, gaming, streaming, and
http downloads run at 100% during 8am-5pm and after that obviously everything 100%. Read the fine print on your accounts especially if it's a promo before complaining :)

Let me tell you, I'm very clear on the fine print when I sign up for something. :) There was no fine print indication that I would get anything other than a regular full performance Standard Uncapped account when I signed up for this.

Either way, MrBEEP has been in contact with me about this, so hopefully my problem is solved and things will be better. :)

The variants started a couple of months ago only iirc. I was also paying 109/ month for the standard uncapped. It was the pure one. Standard is useless for downloading during the day but it allowed for normal use. So if it's not doing that there is a problem.

Apparently not. According to MrBEEP, if you pay anything less than full price, you don't get the full product. If it contains the word promotion it has been downgraded in some way or another.
