Hey, is P2P shaping still on??? Come on, please just turn it off for the next 6 hours or more :D

I suspect you'd have a better streaming experience on a 4mb silver account tbh. 2mb is a little dicey for streaming in my experience, even during ideal times.

I can't get a 4mb line here. 2mb is the max. I've never had an issue with streaming though. It's been so perfect that in fact I can watch two streams at once, so often put the football and rugby on at the same time. This is from supersport at least. Yet lately the streaming has been abominable.

I dunno if it's supersport or openweb, but I must direct my anger somewhere. I'm a consumer. I am compelled...:D

I streamed from that link I Pm'ed you yesterday and the game did not lag at all after OW did a port reset about 5 minutes into the game. SS was up to s**t

Right. Figured it might have been supersport. Unfortunately I can't use anything else at all. I can only use local streams because my line is so poor.

They are such an incredibly useless bunch of morons that the sooner I get a better connection at home, the best. I can then be done with them once and for all...

There goes video streaming again, serious buffering... I thought the issues were resolved.

I gave up trying to stream anything off SuperSport awhile ago. It was too unpredictable to even be vaguely useful.

We are not experiencing any general issues with streaming today.

Unfortunately it is not that easy to conclude that it is an OpenWeb issue. We need to test from our side.

Kindly email [email protected] with the details of the service so that we can begin the troubleshooting process.

A movie service that I use daily, not SuperSport, which means its an Openweb issue.

Mrbeep, can you guys start testing supersport streaming during big games or for an extended period at least so that we (and you guys) can determine who the culprit is. There have been issues for the last few months and nobody is any the wiser. Afrihost are testing at the moment because their clients are also experiencing issues. As previously discussed, this might be a more widespread problem, and a technical one at that. Some accounts stream fine. Others don't. There is a thread about this for afrihost and it might be in everyone's interests to work together with them to get to the bottom of this. I spoke to dstv earlier and they claim that there were no problems today with their streaming service.

So either they're lying, which is a definite possibility, or there is a more serious issue involving the various isps and their infrastructure, which is also a distinct possibility. It may be an mweb issue. We as the end user simply don't know. You're in the best position to make that determination...

My hat off to Openweb. Been floundering around with SEVERAL ISP's, done my technical and service provision analysis.
There are a lot of "manipulators" out there. It takes some doing to see through the BS.

My previous ISP was wearing down my router power button....Just check the forum threads...

With Openweb, i have now had several months of trouble-free internet access. To tell you the truth, last comment here was my first confirmed slow-down, high ping etc. Since, as i am typing, this has been cleared up!!

Coming from an industrial technical background, i understand that REAL technical issues will happen. That is the reality of asset management.

My experience so far with Openweb is excellent, in comparison with others...
****it, i am happy for the first time after the 56k modem drag...
Keep it up Openweb and Mr. Beep. World-Class stuff...

(I am not affiliated to any of the above... just a happy customer)

Mortiiy
Agreed. That is why you should vote for MrBeep in the survey as best ISP representative. :)

IS news server is stuffed. Afrihost working 100%. After 30 min of router being shutdown and PC restart still no joy. OpenWeb is broken somewhere? Cant even download torrents and the queue is long for both utorrent and news server.

I have alerted the guys to this yesterday. They will definitely look into it.

There is no shaping right now on anything.

If you are having a problem, I would suggest you switch off your router for 20 minutes then back on and at the same time reboot your PC

Did that, then switched everything off, even pulled the telephone line from the wall and went to bed. Lets see if I can recreate the problem, then phoning Telscum, then calling in a ballistic missile strike.

Hi Beep, woke up this morning to no internet, router is giving a PPPoE authentication failure. Any ideas?
