The shaper protects the network all round. Torrents are already on the lowest priority, however, if alot of people download torrents during peak, it will increase load.

We cannot add more shaping to torrents, as this will leave them with 0 bandwidth, which will be a matter of great annoyance by many.

Shaping is a balance.

Telkom - Would you mind dropping our IPC rate by 50% so that we can limit shaping?

My gold account was useless today. I couldnt open gmail. How are you gonna fix this if not by harsher p2p rules?
 
Is there shaping on nntp as well right now? Usually full speed by this time but currently 50KB/s on a 1 meg uncapped.
 
There is still some shaping applied yes, as the network is still quite busy.

It should clear as the evening progresses.

Openweb has been rather crap the last 2 days. Also 10k/s here. If we dont get better service im outa here

Ja, me too. I cancelled when they told me it would take a calendar notice to -downgrade- my account, but would instantly be able to -upgrade- my account. Did this last month so just trying to make the most of my last 30-odd days.

Hard to make much out of anything at 30KB/s.

Why is it sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow? Im using a 3g dongle now cuz i cant use my 4mb GOLD account, why is it called GOLD if its like dial up during the day?!!?!?
