OK, thanks for the info. Hope it gets fixed soon

Yeah I also saw my international NNTP download rate drop to practically zero, then shot up again and then back down. Good to know that Seacom has an outage, hopefully MrBeep can keep us up to speed once things are restored :)

Mother of hell!
This Seacom outtage is making gaming services all but unusable.

Oh well, welcome to Africa...

So no WOW gaming this weekend? Sucks. Which ISP should I use for a backup account? Everyone at Mweb seems to be doing well with latency in WOW.

Does anyone know which "service provider" to choose in the drop down list at the Always-On hotspots landing page? All the IS related ones I choose reject my ADSL username and password.

Internet Solutions. Used mine a few times, worked great.

That depends on your package with OpenWeb.
If you're on any standard package, then IS is your backbone provider.
If however, you're on a Silver, Gold, Platinum or business account, multiple backbones are provided for selection by the customer and as such your choice at hotspots might be something other than IS.

I'm on silver. I just phoned the support number and they said that my credentials are being declined by the Internet Solutions radius server. This is funny because this is a new username and password which I got today as the previous one just magically stopped authenticating with Openweb.

Guess I'll have to contact Openweb support.

Hey Friends,

A quick note to let you know that our Standard Uncapped promotion launches today. We are posting this first on MyBroadband. It will only be launching to the general public later today.

Get FREE Uncapped until end March 2013, and only pay our slashed promotional pricing from 1 April onwards.

Packages:

1Mbps Standard Uncapped – R169
2Mbps Standard Uncapped – R269
4Mbps Standard Uncapped – R369
10Mbps Standard Uncapped – R569

Take advantage of this unique headstart, as we only have 500 accounts available. Visit: http://www.openweb.co.za/free/

I got right up to the "Click Accept and Bill" button and it said my billing would run from the 22nd of March. Are 500 promo accounts finished already? I thought March would be "free" and billing would run from 1st April.

I don't know what I would've done without my gold unshaped account today... my other two mweb lines are royally SEACOMed!

Thanks Openweb :D
