Just a heads up for those that haven't seen this: [url said:

Thanks Mr Beep. Just seen this and signed up for the 10MB standard uncapped. Been a long time Mweb customer but the recent problems prompted me to move. Looking forward to my "Openweb" experience. Please don't disappoint.

Once again like clockwork my speeds get cut in half between 8am and 5pm. This is the third gold uncapped, unshaped account they moved me to and usually get great speeds at first but the daytime speeds degrade quickly. I'm getting tired of having to switch accounts every week, I wouldn't even mind a little shaping but this is ridiculous

hey everyone, i was wondering , my account will be canceled April first, however a debit order went off today.
Is that for my march usage?

I am having the same issue if not worse. I just moved to Openweb from Cybersmart (due to poor performance) about 2 weeks ago. I took up the 2MB Gold Uncapped product which I understood to be very lightly shaped and this account is supposed to get a priority level.

Well, every weekday, starting 8 am, I am running (as per Speedtest for international servers - USA and UK) at 200 kb/sec.... this is 1/8th of my speed, what am I paying for?! I am on leave and can't stream anything effectively. Weekends and nights seem better but this is not a Standard account and for almost R400 per month, I do expect better.

There is probably nothing you can do since yours is the shaped account. I am running the 4 Mbps Gold Uncapped & Unshaped and I am definitely being shaped between 8am and 5pm. Right now I am getting less than a quarter of my night time speed and all this for R899 a month. Every time I complain about speed they give me a new account which seems perfect for a week and then is back to being super shaped

Well there should be something that can be done! the standard shapes uncapped product is half of what i pay and im getting 20 kb/sec download rate now on my guild wars 2 client. Thats dial up speed...

Update: now I'm getting 1 kb/sec download speeds.... And can't even load Speedtest.net

My 2mbps silver uncapped account is running at max line speed from an international server. Thanks, MrBEEP. The previous account was giving issues. :D

i wish my gold 2 mb uncapped would run faster than dial up, what a cr@p experience in the first 2 weeks of my relationship with Openweb. Also, there is no tech support. called them and nobody is available to take a call, left a message, nobody phones back, no response to my email either... eish, might have to look for another isp again.

I hear you!

I cant believe it! I am having EXACTLY the same experience! Except mine has been average at best since the start! The trial account I was given was amazing! This after I was interested in the Silver 2mb...was so impressed I went Gold...wow... coming from Afrihost Business 2mb I have been nothing but severely disappointed in my openweb experience. Did they never make the step up from being a one man ISP? Support and website client dashboard are non-existent, except for a lady that tried her best but couldnt offer any real technical support as such. Was given a different account to try...it worked a tiny bit better..keyword being tiny! They say you can use your details to login at alwayson wifi but they dont give you the info on how, or your details or tell you which provider to login under either. Mr Beep is a myadsl legend and SA internet pioneer but maybe his Openweb has grown too big for the pot plant :(

And now NO feedback or news release regarding the downtime...not even in the Myadsl article done today! What is going on Openweb?

My openweb fairytail has left me very frustrated. For the price I will prob go back to Afrihost business 2mb...unshaped and everything fullspeed all the time. Not to mention a customer experience that doesnt make you feel like youre floating out at sea :(

I am with you on that! just called them back and the tech refused to speak to me twice because its Seacom and thats that, the poor reception lady didnt know tats or when someone would call me back.... i demanded to speak to a manager because of the poor service and was promised a call within 30 mins, 5 mins to go and i doubt I will get a call. Shocking service, Cybersmart service was bad but this is a new level. I am basically being told to shove off.
