My 1MB is also perfoming at around half speed. Its probably just day-time shaping.

I'm also having very slow youtube speeds atm on 2MB Gamer account. Pretty much 20KB/s and lower...

Mine is crawling at 20kb/s for normal HTTP application downloads.

There are two things to can do that might improve your YouTube performance:

1) Try using a secure connection (https://www.youtube.com)

2) Open command prompt as administrator and type netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="YOUTUBE" dir=in action=block remoteip=173.194.55.0/24,206.111.0.0/16 enable=yes

This prevents streaming from potentially slow/inefficient cached servers. To remove it, type netsh advfirewall firewall delete rule name="YOUTUBE"

If YouTube is still slow after trying these two things then it may be due to aggressive shaping, or something wrong with your line/account/exchange

For the record, my 10mb Gamer account is doing fine on international downloads (HTTP / YouTube / NNTP); all between 400kBps and 1.1mBps

I'm in Durban, wonder if this is an area / exchange issue everyone is having? You guys with the problems, where are you based?

Weird - I'm now completely unshaped

International Astraweb (NNTP) & HTTP downloads are full speed (10mb Gamer account, Durban)

This must be an area thing
