MW3 will give it a bash as soon as i get home tonight, Im on a 1mb Gamers King account and loving it.

Didn't play MW3 in forever, but my ping in Black Ops II doesn't go over 50 unless im doing something silly in the background :D

You on steam?

ps3....

No. Lightly shaped would be a better word.

I wouldn't label Gold as lightly shaped. As I have a gold account, I've learnt the shaping tends to get quite bad at times. Funny enough it never use to be shaped as much as it has lately. It has become more frequent now. However, the Gold account is still a lot better than what most other ISP's provide

Personally, I would assume that the Gold Orange package would be better than the Gold Leon package....

Thank god. At the moment I may as well plug a 56K modem in and use that, its pathetic. All for downloading 33GB's this month.

shame on you! thats shocking! what about the other users? tsk tsk. lol. thats 5 days in a bad week over here. are you sure you want to come over though. i need aLl the bandwidth i can get! lol.

ask mrbeep for a test account first though and get a taste.

MrBeep - I upgraded to Gold this morning, and have been experiencing decidedly underwhelming results ever since.

Speedtest.net results on a 10mbps Gold uncapped:

Local speed tests:

To SAIX:

For reference, international:

Now I've mailed back and forth with support, and all I've managed to get was that this account was on the same routing as my Silver uncapped, and that they were getting full speed testing on their line. Except that my Silver uncapped was getting full line speed to local servers this morning. So, since support was implying the problem was with my line, I thought I'd hop on an Axxess capped account to compare:

As you can see, my line is fine, and the Gold uncapped performance is dismal. Since I haven't had any luck with support, I thought I'd ask you here - I'm paying considerably more per month for this, and I'd like an answer.

As an added tidbit: I also tested on Webafrica with a small amount of cap I still had on an old prepaid account. Same results as Axxess - ie. full line speed. Since Webafrica are now with IS too, this would seem to point to something specific on your side, and not my line, or Internet Solutions.

Support ALWAYS gets fullspeed, no matter which protocol, no matter what time of day. I once asked for them to prove it with a screenshot, thats where the email trail ended.

Gold? rigghghhhhtttt , more like deep yellow

This matter is being investigated.

Im afraid it is too early to deliver a conclusion. May we please be afforded the opportunity to investigate the issue?

Absolutely - I'm not on a witch hunt, and I'm the most avid proponent of you discovering the issue and fixing it, as it benefits me.

The upgrade process was painless and professional and I still believe you guys are awesome. But the last communication I had from Support was that the account was running fine on your test line, and no further word since 2:24pm. You can understand how the excitement on purchasing a Gold uncapped account has turned to frustration.

Just to show lack of bias, this is the result as the clock ticked past 5pm and shaping was lifted:

So it seems (at least to me) that even local is being affected by shaping during office hours, and that that shaping is perhaps a little too stringent for a Gold account? Anyway, hope it helps.

I removed all shaping on your account at 16:00 today during troubleshooting. It is not shaping related.

Engineers are digging deeper
