At first I was like "dammit I also want ping of 20", but then again, i don't think that OW will be able to assist, Im in the middle of nowhere in KZN.

that said the solid 40-50 ping i do get on Black Ops 2 is miles better than the 150+ I got on 3G.

Downloads running at full or just below full speed.

Hit me up on Steam if you want :)

I'm on a 'Gamers King' 1Mb line. ............ .. . . . . . .
...... . . . . . . . . .
On Black Ops 2 and Battlefield 3 (which have locally hosted dedicated servers) my ping is usually around 20 and sometimes as low as 13, which is outstanding. Its the reason games like MW3 don't have that many players online anymore - no dedicated servers is a bust for us Saffers.

Hope this helps.

Out of interest, I keep on seeing mention of 'Gamers King' accounts. I don't see any reference to it on the Openweb site though. How does it compare to the Gold Uncapped?

I'm on a 'Gamers King' 1Mb line. Played last night (on PC) and got full bars. Couple of lag spikes, but for the most part it was great. The quality of the connection moves between 4 and 5 bars (you can check this in the score screen by 'tabbing' on PC - not sure on PS3) but I didn't notice any real difference.

Bear in mind, though, that I managed to connect to a bunch of local players. This affects the experience dramatically. If I can't connect to local players (which happens more often now that the game is a bit dated) I connect to players from all over Europe and my ping is terrible. This is the result of a lack of dedicated servers, and a better/faster product will not necessarily solve this, but it will help if you go for the super fast packages.

thanx for this. im not aware of whether a server is local or not on the ps3. i play public. there are options for a private game but i usually die alone so im not sure whether getting another account is worth it then.

I received a phone call from Telkom regarding my slow line speed on weekends and after hours. The lady from Telkom says that I must understand that everyone is using the internet at that time and speeds will decrease. So I told her that when I laid the complaint, I was told that there's no congestion at the exchange. She then seemed rather hot headed and told me that since my ISP is not Telkom Internet, my traffic gets less priority. Telkom aren't playing nice with other ISP's then?

Do you perhaps have this ladies name. I would love to get my hands on the recording of this conversation?

I don't have her name. Only reference number.

Ironically, the day after I laid the complained, my internet has been working at full speed all day and night with the odd shaping here and there.

Hi Fox1

Kindly PM me the details. I would highly appreciate it.

I don't have her name but I can give you the reference number and time that I received her call.

MrBeep - any feedback on the issue from yesterday? Last night after 5pm speed was fantastic, as it was for most of the this morning, but as of a test a few minutes ago, it's underperforming again, even to local speedtest servers.

DNS was set on 8.8.8.8, speed is fine now. Almost everyday starting from around 12 google gets slow, rest of international sites is fine. I have 2 gmail account, one private and one business that stays open, and when this slowgo start, it takes forever to open, just keeps on saying loading.

I have notified the engineers to monitor this

Anyone have problems with OW? My ADSL just went dead, I am now on my backup account. When I use the OW log in details I get a no response error.
