I'd be very surprised if this problem is only effecting me given the trace route above. Although general connectivity issues usually result in a swarm of posts *perplexed*

Hey knoop... Im also getting crappy performance at the moment. Tracert results are similar to yours. Ive turned off every network client and still getting issues. I also thought there would be a swarm of posts. Trying to get another adsl account to see where the problem is.

No improvement my side. Emailed OpenWeb support but haven't had a response yet. Local is fine, international dead. Problem starts on that 5th hop.

I don't know if it's related at all, but I'm having a lot of trouble streaming from NetFlix (YouTube seems okay), the quality is rather poor and I can't seem to achieve a speed of more than 50-80KB/s. Speedtests also rarely go over 0.4Mbits/s (internationally that is, local is perfect) and some even timeout :/ It could be my side? But any help would be appreciated :) If you're around MrBEEP. I've also included two trace routes below, one to NetFlix.com and the other to gamespot.com

I apologise for the amount of space both trace routes take up.

OpenWeb support sent me new account details. All back to normal.
Thanks

confused

So I'm pretty confused / disappointed;

I opened an openweb account on April 22, when I saw on their website a promotion for the 'Gamers King (Downloaders Bling) - Limited Edition!' account. It said there were something like "70 accounts left" (a guess on exact number but it was definitely below 100).

I received my log in details that day, and had about a week of using it before the account seemed to stop working completely (wouldn't connect). I reverted back to my (trusty) axxess account. I put through a message on their 'contact us' page in the 'need support' area. No reply, ever.

I then got billed during May, after seeing that I tried to connect again to no avail and submitted another ticket, no response.

The last straw really was today when I load up the website and see that the my 'Gamers King (Downloaders Bling) - Limited Edition!' now has "176 accounts left". Awesome marketing ploy!

Maybe someone from Openweb can contact me on private message and explain to me what on earth is going on?

Send an e-mail to [email protected]. CC [email protected] and [email protected]. MrBeep will get back to you.

Ermm, the promotion expired end April.

It is now returned for another limited amount of accounts. I'm afraid I do not see the problem of offering this account type again? Should we only offer a promotion once and never again?

Why did you not email [email protected] when you problem initially occurred? I invite you to kindly do so now.

Beep sorted me out late Saturday night.

Thanks Beep for the awesome service.

Account was running like a beast Sunday.

Hi

Just started on my new "1Mbps Gold Uncapped" account.

Current download speeds are currently averaging about 40 KB/s.

Is this normal throttling for a "1Mbps Gold Uncapped" account during working hours?

Downloads will be shaped during office hours yes.

Shaping is completely dynamic, thus it is impossible to provide a speed im afraid.

I am on 6mbps Gold and my connection is basically useless today.
Youtube videos take about 5 minutes just to start, then have to pause and wait for the buffer to pick up (trying to review a notebook I want to purchase).
Browsing is a pain. Pages taking minutes to start loading.

The weekend was great. But I work from home and need my connection to be stable. Seems I need to email support weekly to find out what is going on. Does not solve anything though.

Paying a premium for this?

EDIT: Trying to use Google Maps to setup a location for a meeting tomorrow and it is timing out. OMF.

I'm having a similar "bad connection day". Google services (and most other international traffic) are loading at 5-10KB/s and timing out. Is there some general problem or is this just an account issue?
