Anyone else experiencing very slow daytime speeds? Sites like youtube and google wont even complete the page render. After 5pm everything goes back to normal. This is on a Gamers King 2Mb account.

Much better these last 2 days on 6MB Uncapped gold @ work could only browse during the day for the last month. gave up on trying to do anything else but browse

I am also experiencing better speeds during office hours on Gold 6mbps the last 2 days.
Was having major issues prior to this.

You guys that are experiencing problems should get free trial accounts from other ISP's and test them out for a bit. That's helped me sort a ton of my problems out. With the data you collect, contact Openweb support and show them.

and for the love of God, I DON'T work for Openweb. Anyone here, and I say this at the risk of instaban hammer, remember a silver feline of sorts?
Yea.

Openweb PUMPING again

My Openweb account went through a bit of a dip over the last two weeks during the day but with the help of Leon and Charmaine its now PUMPING again. Love the support and dedication you guys show. Technology will fail - it's how you deal with the failure that matters. Keep up the good work Openweb. You guys rock. Your are still by far the best ISP I have ever been with hands down.

Correct me if I'm wrong - I assume that nntp shaping applies to the IS news server? Only getting 100kb/s...

Well according to MrBeep, local is never shaped (and I believe this because I see it) so I guess the speed issue has more to with the actual capacity available on the news server.

The network is currently very busy, thus shaping will be applied by the system.

We are forecasting a good weekend though, thus you should be able to catch up on all your downloads from tonight

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not at home anyway so doesn't really affect me, will be on the weekend though :D

I don't expect to be able to use shaped traffic, I do expect to be able to load websites...

If you have a torrent running, or try and download during peak, and then browse, you will experience issues.

If you are not downloading, and browsing is slow, you are experiencing an issue. Kindly email [email protected] with as much details as possible so that we can investigate

I can confirm that daytime speeds on my end are also quite bad. Web browsing is near non existent.

I did a local speed test and this is what I'm getting.

Download Speed: 54 kbps (6.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 345 kbps (43.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 69 ms

I have contacted support so hopefully we will figure this out. :)
