anyone give feedback on their Dota 2 pings lately

10mb Gamers King

SA: Generally about 60ms.
EU: 230ms. Been having loads of issues with EU recently. Pings can be as high as 600ms. Definitely not a line issue as I switch to my PerGb ADSL account and speeds drop to 200 - 210ms.

MR Beep how about a test account for 24 hours??? i need to have something that gives good pings but doesnt break around every corner.

Openweb Vanilla or Silver Uncapped 1Mbps account

Hi Guys

I will be receiving my ADSL line shorly. I have done a lot of interesting reading on this forum, but cannot find the answer I am looking for.

My question is relating to Openweb's 1Mbps Uncapped account. Specifically the Vanilla (Standard) and Silver Uncapped account. Is the 15% lower contention ratio on the silver uncapped account really worth the additional R42? (Other than the contention ratio, is this the only difference between the two products?)

R42 is not much, but if the contention ratio is negligible I dont think it is worth the extra money?

I am also not a heavy downloader, maybe pulling 40-50GB per month. I also dont do online gaming that much.

What do you guys think; Vanilla (Standard) uncapped or Silver uncapped?

Thnx

I'm on Vanilla and I hardly noticed any shaping but that's mainly because I don't do torrents.

How's everybody's performance at the moment?

Our 4mb Leon Gold account at work has been struggling on international sites all morning, and now I'm home on my 10mb Gamer King account and find the same thing.. can't get higher than about 60kBps (0.5mbit) on any international downloads, HTTP, non-locally-cached YouTube, etc.

All local / co.za stuff is full speed though

Anyone know of any current issues?

Edit: 10 minutes after posting, and everything seems to have suddenly come back to life.. not sure what's been going on but it seems to be sorted :)

Happens to me too. At least it gets fixed :D

Still waiting for mine to be fixed. International has been < 30kb/s on my 10Mb Gamers King account (8mb line) since Sunday night.

I always get full speed on Speedtest.net but less than 0.5Mbs on actual HTTP downloads .___.
Standard access eh?

You are experiencing a Telkom issue, as per my PM.

More than likely a congested exchange or port fault. As per my PM, kindly contact Telkom

Is there something wrong currently?
Got home about an hour ago to horrible internet. I'm on 4Mbps Standard.
Reset my router twice now and double checked everything.
Tested on a PC connected via LAN and my laptop and iPhone connected via WiFi.

Local ping is always around 500ms.
