Can't stream a 240p twitch video without experience terrible lags  My line is 2mbps :( Is Twitch being shaped?

I see a lot of people complaining about slow Twitch streaming on all the ISP threads. Is it not possible that the issue lies on their side? My line is completely unshaped this weekend as per my previous post getting 1.2MB/sec on international http downloads.

Nothing is being shaped this weekend. It is a completely unshaped weekend.

Yeah my twitch.tv is borked. Even when I stream through a socks proxy from the UK, still wont stream nicely.

Glad it's not just me.

Can't find the problem though. tracerts and pings don't show anything of value.

Seems to be a problem with twitch.tv itself. It is even slow on a 3G connection

I have a question. I have PlayStation Plus for my PS3. I set it to download the latest patches at 2AM each morning. I wake up at 6:30 only to discover that in the 4h30m it has only managed to download 1.4GB. This is on a 4Mbps ADSL Line, with nothing else downloading throughout the house.
This isn't the first time I've noticed the downloads from the PlayStation network are really slow. Usually only manage like 200KBps +/- I've tried with both wired and wireless connections to my router from the PS3. Things like YouTube on the PS3 work without any issues and stream perfectly at a high quality.

Hi

At 2am nothing is shaped. It is completely unshaped. Any slow speeds can be related to many other factors out of our control, but we can pretty much guarantee you that shaping is not one of them.

I will have the guys perform some testing. Kindly email [email protected] so that we can begin

Hi mrbeep

Just wanted to congratulate you on the seamless sign up process. Been using your trial for the past few days and very impressed. So, took the plunge!

Twitch issues here as well. daily motion as well. Didn't try another acc. Getting authentication drops as well. Very frustrating that that happens often

you doing it wrong get psprox setup and download the patches to the pc and install to ps3.

you will always have issues with ps3 updating from PSN even on 3G besides you could resume download at any point
if there were interruptions.

Yea I get this too. Apparently a lot of people are - and Afrihost says its a Telkom thing. Probably is because my account with them won't auth VERY often. Guess we wait and hope..............

I use PSProx for downloading the PS+ Games. You cannot download patches with PSProx anymore. Sony changed stuff. The one main advantage of having PS+ for me is the auto updating. Choose a time of day for it to update all your installed games, and it does. So no more having to spend an hour or two looking at a download screen that cannot be background downloaded. It's just that this morning was super duper slow, but I'm thinking it was just most likely PSN itself.

Hi MrBeep,

I'm getting extremely slow ADSL speeds this morning. SpeedTest is not even loading. I tried Google DNS settings and still no improvement :(

Hi Fox1

We have asked the guys to take a look

In before the bitching and moaning about slow speeds start without emailing support...oh wait....

Thanks. Support did a port reset but the problem is still there.

I'm also having prolems since yesterday. Speedtest can ping but has trouble running the actual speedtests.
Just spoke to Telkom for a port reset and there are no problems on my line.
Downstream seems very eratic as pages sometimes load fine and other times have a long delay before loading. Can't stream video at all...
*edit* OK there seems to be a problem and Openweb is aware of it and working on it. Very helpful and efficient call centre, thanks Openweb. That is a rare thing in this country.
