Have to say. Office hours shaping has been very bad lately. It never used to be like this. Now I'm lucky to get more than 1/4 my line speed on NNTP, where it used to be full line speed 24/7. Oh well....

As a matter of interest would you mind logging onto http://users.isdsl.net , logging in with your current router's username /password, click on ACCOUNT HISTORY and post the current months usage. I have a sneaky suspicion that "something" happens when you go beyond a certain usage point.

Could you please test my line from your side? When I had the trial account I never had any problems but as soon as I went onto the permanent account I am now forced to manually reboot my router(which is brand new) as the connection drops every 20min. This makes online gaming impossible. I am trying to figure out if its the line or account please.

Why not just sign up for a free Afri-Host account and test it yourself?
 
Today's slow internet is quickly making up for what was a great weekend, trying to download a 11mb file, 1 hour to go on 10Mb account, this will be the 4th try now, all previous attempts have timed out.

Whats the problem today? I get a speed of 0,4kB/s on a 1mbps line.

Yeop. I'm inclined to believe MrBeep on this one.

However, this means there's some other problem causing these slowdowns- it's been in the OW network for years.

Reboot router,
re-create port,
change backbone,
change account details
etc...

All crap I've not had to do with other providers. i just hope they can fix whatever's going on.

That, or come clean on what the problem is so we know how to work around it- IE, re-create port every X days / demand new account details every Y months etc...
 
I've been having horrible speeds since last week. When you log a ticket, OW tells me nothing is wrong. I just tested it and it seems there is a lot wrong. I get much better and constant speeds with another ISP. I'm known to have very little patience when it comes to shoddy service, and I'm actually very proud of myself for holding out this long, but pretty soon I'm going to start getting angry, and Mr Beep, you won't like me when I'm angry.
 
Day 2 of slow torrents... From 90 - 100 kbps to <30 kbps. The first 10 days since I joined OpenWeb was awesome. If there is a problem, could you please inform us Mr Beep so that some of us (the last 2 pages of posters) can stop wondering what is happening?

He wasn't online today as regular as usual... so something must be up?
