Is anyone else having authentication problems tonight? I can't connect at all and I've already sent two emails to support.

I'm in Johannesburg in case my Russian isn't clear enough :)

Hi Adrian

There are no general issues on the network currently.

I see all support tickets have been responded to. You should've received a reply already ?

Hi MrBEEP

No, I've even checked my Spam folder and there is no reply. I used ceo@... The first email was sent at 18:34.

I'm [-]on a different account[/-] using a backup account now, so let me [-]see if the problem has been resolved[/-] try and log in again....

Edit: No, njet... but I'm sure it's just a little glitch in the system. :)

Edit II: MrBEEP reset my port and I'm connected again. Thanks! That's what I love about OpenWeb, support at this time of night on a Saturday!

Line speed seems to be cut almost in half suddenly.
Anybody else experiencing sluggish connectivity?

I'm not happy with Openweb  Every day my connection randomly dies for a few minutes then comes back alive. It happens a lot especially at night  It's been like this since I moved to Openweb/upgraded my line to 2mb. I have installed all the filters in my home.

DSP Firmware Version E.25.41.55 A
Connected true
Operational Mode G.Dmt
Annex Type AnnexA
Upstream 512000
Downstream 2048000
SNR Margin(Upstream) 14 dB
SNR Margin(Downstream) 18.5 dB GOOD
Line Attenuation(Upstream) 24.5 dB
Line Attenuation(Downstream) 46.5 dB GOOD
CRC Errors(Upstream) 3752
CRC Errors(Downstream) 0
Latency(Upstream) Fast
Latency(Downstream) Fast

EDIT: That's it. My night is ruined now. All the streaming videos have always been so unbearably slow since 2 months ago. I can't tolerate that anymore now  I feel cheated because I'm paying R350p/m for this crap.

Can you run some constant pings and tracert when you connection dies. Mine does the same, but I've been blaming the dslam.

This sounds like a line fault.

It seems your your copper cannot handle the higher speed. I would strongly suggest you call Telkom on 10210 and log a fault.

Of course, my verdict is used at own risk until we receive your ADSL username via support

MrBeep. How is the network looking today? Still busy? PSN downloads are just impossibly slow during the daytime. I know you say download at night, but sometimes you want/need to download in the day.
