I still feel that Twitch is to blame. They simply do not have enough bandwidth to sustain demand.

Twitch has been placed on priority on the network, yet the problem still exists. It is on the same priority as Youtube. Twitch has issues, but Youtube works flawlessly.

Using a VPN will change the route it takes to the Twitch servers, and is a hit and miss solution. We have even tried using it on several different VPN's with the same problem.

That totally makes sense :) Thanks for the awesome reply. Youtube is always working flawlessly on my side. It seems that my interests in StarCraft 2 will end now for good.

If you are in CT, take away 25ms. The average should then be ~172ms
 
Hi guys,

Id just like to find out from the OW lovers out there, whats a better package to get:

4mb standard uncapped or 2mb gold uncapped?

(Acc uses include downloading - although i don't mind downloading at night only, browsing, gaming (mostly at night anyway) and so on)

Both Standard and Gold accounts are unshaped at night and during the weekends. Take the 4meg account.
 
Bought gold ucapped - awaiting my account details - hope I don't have to wait the whole night
 
I have a query

We recently asked telkom to convert my line to an adsl line.

The adsl light is green and telkom guest acc works. There is upstream and downstream stats in the modem, no errors

Buuut telkom is yet to inform me that it has been converted - so I jumped the gun abit

But my recently bought OW account doesn't work.

Advice? Should I just query telkom or prob something else

Sounds like you need to complete the activation process, especially if you used the "self install" option. Think you need to use the telkom guest account, and go somewhere on the telkom website to say adsl is working, then other isps will start to authenticate on it. I dont know the exact details because I never went through that process.
 
Could someone tell me if uncapped gold 1m is a better alternative to telkom? Does openweb have a newserver? I also started using netflix I pulled about 140gb from telkom before getting "managed". Will openweb be any good?

Definitely a good choice and you'll never get managed. I'm sure you will find your speed much better then Telkom uncapped. I have a Standard Uncapped account and have nothing to complain about ;) You can use the IS news server - never used it though, so can't tell you what it's like, but I guess it's much the same as Telkom.?
 
Just to note that your Internet will be heavily shaped Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm. Other than that you won't be managed.

I phoned telkom and they said my ADSL line is fine.

Which leads to to believe that the account i got isnt working (or telkom have no idea what they are doing)

EDIT: nevermind could you possibly close the ticket.
I callled telkom again and spoke to somebody else and they said the installation is yet to be completed


MRBeep, could i ask: Just something my OCD noticed, my account is "different", I see peoples adsl usernames like "[email protected]" Mine is nowhere near this, is my account gold uncapped even though the username is odd.

doesnt it matter? is my account what it says it is :P
