Recently upgraded from 1 Meg to 2 Meg with OW. Every alternate day my ping levels are high (sometimes closed to 500ms). When I mail OW, they say they are running well.. Check with Telkom.. Now, when I go to Telkom, they say line is working fine.. now what I am I to do????? FRUSTRATED!!!

Post your ADSL line stats and a traceroute. Sounds more like a line issue than an issue with the data account.
 
Eish - after a good 2 weeks or so of pretty stable speeds, the 5PM problem is back.

Had a little speed wobble today at 3pm, reset router and it was average. The instant 5PM hits, POW latency in the thousands.

Seems like when you have these unshaped days-evenings-weekends my bloody video streaming goes to the dogs. It's crawling on 480p stream.
 
This is getting ridiculous now, it is 8:26, i am on the original 2mb uncapped and i cannot even get on to www.speedtest.net, let alone battling to even login to Gmail

Why do things work after Openweb fiddles with your account (or gives you new login details) for a bit and then it all goes into the dustbin again?

Why can you not just provide the service you are getting paid for?

For the openweb reps out there , whats going to happen in November when the new ADSL speed bumps from Telkom kicks in ?

Streaming seems like a general issue in South Africa at the moment.

We have the guys looking in to it, but I see we are not the only network having a problem from time to time, which means it is a deeper issue than a localised network fault.

I do know Google / Youtube and Twitch are all having international issues at the moment.

Kindly email [email protected] so that they can investigate your issue.

There are no general issues currently.

I have emailed support, my internet stopped working around 10pm last night, ADSL light is still on but no internet.
I phoned Telkom they said there side is fine.

i've sent my cancellation forms in moving away from openweb. why can i not play games during the day on a gamers king account? Openweb reason - shaping (then why call it a gamers king account) had enough
