Daytime shaping. During the day if I download something I get like 30KBps. As far as I know, this is pretty standard for uncapped, so I see no reason to complain. Isn't that what unshaped and business accounts are for?

During the day business accounts get priority and after hours home accounts get priority. For 24/7 priority there are unshaped packages.

Facebook is nearly unusable. Pleased to report that Gmail is working well. POP/IMAP emails are a bit sluggish, not too bad though.

From what I can gather, so far your latency is very high, which generally indicates a Telkom or router fault. We will only know more once you forward us the requested tracert.

Im being shaped quite badly during the day.
Almost to the point where i cant browse.
FNB's site is currently not even opening.
After 5pm things run smoothly. and i have no complaints.
Its just that the odd time i am home before 5, i would like to be able to use my internet.

The rule of thumb is, during peak periods, anything download related will be slow (shaping is dynamic based on how busy the network is at any given time. If you download during peak, browsing too will be slow.
If you do not download during the day, browsing and similar will be completely unshaped.
After hours, we try and provide the best experience possible.

Not if it means we have to lower quality.
The only way to offer double the amount of capacity to a client is to double the contention ratio.
We are considering introducing a package similar to Vanilla which will offer these prices, and match the contention ratio offered by the competing ISPs.

oh thank you i looked at the gamers king 4mbps and the gold leon one
i would of gotten those,when i saw the upgrade will happen,i and i see your point and its true,those who stay the same will be alot more unstable
i only download at night less say pass 20:00 and in weekends
what is the big advantage over the gold leon one and the gamers king
i dont download that much i mostly just youtube,
i can maby afford the gamers one
but the leon gold is abit much for me
like this hero package u have on now that is about the max can afford now
i am on the 2mbps gamers (226)and the hero is 237 so i guess its about the same in preformans based on the price only R11 diff

I was hoping Telkom would come to the party and actually give the ISP's more capacity free of charge. I am all for improving the network rather than dropping prices. I would much rather have full speed 24/7 on a 2meg line rather than some speed on a 4meg line.
For gods sake, use punctuation.
