Anyone experiencing streaming issues in the Cape? I'm on 2M uncapped gold, speedtests were normal (1.7 down, 0.4 Up) but YouTube was impossible last night... :/

No issues at all - streamed Youtube without any issues and I had active download protocols (NNTP, Torrent, HTTP) running in the background (which I limited to 70% of line speed). Running 2Mb Gold Leon account.

Your issue might also be YouTube related. I've experienced myself where some YouTube channels would constantly buffer and other channels/videos stream without a glitch.

Today's the first time in a while that I'm working from home and get a chance to test the line. Streaming (video & internet radio) and browsing is perfect, however download protocols are slow to dead (I'm not complaining as I know shaping is in effect, just testing!).

I work from home quite often, and I can confirm that for me, streaming and browsing during the day is perfect, downloads (as expected!!) are rather sluggish, but that's never interfered with being able to watch the odd YouTube or do research. After 17:00 download speeds start picking up to the point where I get an average of 90 - 100% of line speed all when I download from good servers. The fact that I can stream video and browse the net during the day is great - downloads can wait until later, just pop it into a scheduled download manager and forget about it.

yeah, youtube works fine for me even on HD, no buffering, Torrents absolutely fly and HTTP is great.

My only problems seem to be on Netflix, Huluplus and Lovefilm.

I've been having problems on IS during peak times since Friday last week. I was switched to another IS account and it is still the same. It runs at max 10KB/s during the day, this includes all services: browsing, streaming, downloading, etc.

During off-peak times the account performs perfectly - running at 90-100% at all times. So it seems that IS is throttling the crap out of residential areas during off-peak hours...or I am just very unlucky :) Are there any other people out there with IS problems (I am in Centurion)? Should I maybe try to get the account switched again?

Also, the router and Telkom connection is fine...tested with other accounts that work just great during peak times. I've also switched my router off for an hour to100day to see if that will get it fixed, but no luck.

I am on a 2MB Gold Uncapped account.

Hulu works for me. I found a good idea is to put the quality on auto. Sometimes the stream just dies and you have to reload the page and sit through another advert, but usually works fine.

Well, I've logged a ticket with them and they told me to test again later. I'm at work at the moment, but hopefully this issue gets resolved.

Kindly email [email protected] if possible, so that we can investigate

It is not an adsl port issue, or a telkom issue, or a line issue.
My FNB connect account authenticates just fine.
Telkom guest account authenticates fine.
Openweb account doesnt authenticate.

Are there any issues today? I am in the Randburg area and Internet is very slow, gaming Gmail and most websites, I have not been downloading at all today.

Likewise, also in Randburg... p2p is fast but ALL Google related pages are useless... waited 5 minutes for Google Drive to load?

There are no general issues on the network currently.

May I suggest you get hold of our lovely, competent friends at Telkom on 10210.

I see vanilla and standard uncapped packages have been removed from the website. How does everyday compare to those two?
