now i am starting to wonder is it the MTN or just openweb it slef...


but already asked for a switch,but i read that for streaming and local ping IS is better so ya all good:)

but downloading new ninvida drivers and it run at 450kb/s+

OW is usually great, it's just been an issue with shaping during the day which is expected. Their support is truly exceptional except for today as I haven't received feedback from a mail I sent to the support team. Usually they get back to you in 2-5 min, it's been just under an hour since i've contacted the support team.

I guess they're overwhelmed with issues on mtn's side.
 
I also seem to be having the same issue as Captain Beer. Apart from YouTube (which uses 1MB/s quite nicely), my downloads are maxing out at 30KB/s. I've tried grabbing drivers from nVidia and a game from GOG and neither will go faster than that. Hopefully it's just a temporary slowdown.

The drivers are still downloading, pulled 138MB so far :( Been going for hours now. Torrents not even getting over 10KB/s. YouTube and di.fm working 100%

Try using a download manager for all downloads over 50MB. If it fail for some reason, you restart the DL manager.
 
It's very strange. It has taken me 9 hours today to download a 700mb file, but 1080p YouTube streams without problem; by the sounds of it, it could be a problem with the MTN side of things?

Netflix is also completely unusable for me at the moment; I imagine if this persists tomorrow we should probably get in touch with support.

I am aware of a shocking amount of Telkom exchange faults currently. The Telkom network is now officially VERY congested after the lovely free speed upgrades that started this week.

Netflix is also completely unusable for me at the moment; I imagine if this persists tomorrow we should probably get in touch with support.

ya something is not lekker tonight, if speeds are bad tomorrow night will log a ticket but on a 4mb line and its crawling at everything
 
Question. For those of us who had a sub-10Mb account with OW, and our lines got upgraded to 10Mb, is OW gonna bump the account speed up to 10?

Probably very wishful thinking here but I guess it's worth an ask.

Nope, you'll have to upgrade your data account.
 
Is there an issue this evening MrBeep ? It definitely is not the same as most other nights !
 
My account is also buggered at the moment: 30KB/s is not even 384kbps. This is going through MTN.

Do not feel like nagging support again.. I am already on my sixth account change.
