@MrBeep: FYI...at exactly 00:32 my account went from perfectly fine to perfectly dead. Backup ISP is fine though.
Anyway...time to go to bed. I'm sure it'll have sorted itself out by tomorrow morning.
Same thing happened to me. Same time...
Thanks, I still have an account with mweb and a few others that I have some gigs left, I will have to check all of them to see where my problem is. What I don't understand is why for about one week of the month my internet is good and for the rest of the month it is absolutely ****? this has been going on for about a year now. I am not a heavy user! +- 20gig to 30gig per month. The Last Telkom technician I spoke to said they can throttle a user regardless of what ISP they use. So your ISP can throttle you and Telkom can add to that...sounds like BS to me. I have been with a few ISP's and it is always good for the first month and then it is **** after that. I don't like conspiracy theories but all the tinfoil in my house is tingling![]()
MrBEEP: Can't connect all of a sudden. Have a red DSL light on my router. Tried a different ASDL account, works perfectly.
Will PM you my details.
Thanks.
Having a big problem.... Telkom upgraded me to 4 MB for free, therefore, I contacted Openweb on Sunday and asked to change my account from 2 MB Gold to 4 MB Gamers Kind (Downloaders Bling) account, this was done and everything was hunky dory. Today I switched off the router before I went to work, I come back and switch it on and it just sits on the connecting screen, won't connect to my account with Openweb. I restarted the router 3 times, no luck - just sits there. Tried my backup Cybersmart account and guess what, connects first time.... Is there a problem?
it looks like im on this mtn accounts as well. can i be moved back to IS please?

this is normal for me for the past week.
I'm assuming you're on an uncapped account. If you don't use that much data, you might as well move to a capped account where you won't be shaped. It will save you some money & frustration associated with uncapped accounts.
Ouch! Looks like some heavy Telkom congestion going on here.
Hop 2 is your problem, or should I rather say Telkoms problem
Please call them on 10210 and log a fault
Thanks for the reply and yes, I have been dealing with them for the past few days.
MrBEEP, I have PMed you, still no response from Support for 2 hours now. Cybersmart account working like a charm but it's only a capped account with less than 1 Gig data left. I please need you guys to help me with the OW account as it is not connecting...
