but leon asked me if i want it now,or on the 1st des

but pro rata wasent in,i just had to pay the exstra R170

LOL thanks guys...... Well i pay a monthly fee for legal representation :). I mean with the ISP market already so tight it seems with his response i can basically f-off. I love the service so far from open web but this just shattered my day. I now have to pay fees at the bank that i could have avoided. I have 2 bank accounts if i new i would have just transfered the money into this account so that OpenWeb is sorted. I want to know what is going to be done because at the end of the day i can pay them and take my money to another ISP. If i owned a company and i see that my customers are being treated like this i would blow a gasket.

Well if i have a debit order i expect them to take money on that specific date. If they want to take money before then its their duty to inform customers that they are doing so.

Once again its not about the money here its principle.

If you had debit order set up with them and you upgraded your account they then take the pro-rata amount off immediately, they don't give credit, you pay before you use. Same goes with new accounts. I believe most ISP's do the same thing as I had the same experience with MWEB. Telkom being the exception, then normally bill me the next month.

When I upgraded they took off the amount immediately via my debit order, although they made it clear at the time of the upgrade.

Then pm MrBeep and get it sorted, also you may get better responses if you structure your posts a little better.

Threatening to go Legal is never quite the best way to deal with a problem, as this will automatically flag the ticket to be submitted to our legal folks who will take over the matter.

I see this has been submitted to them and they are busy investigating. Unfortunately once the issue is assigned to them, they have to solely deal with the matter.

I do however apologise if you were not aware that the pro rata amount will be deducted. I do see however that you were asked if you would like to proceed immediately on on the 1st of December, and you chose to proceed immediately, which would attract a pro rata deduction amount.

Legal is busy drawing up a more descriptive confirmation email in the meantime to avoid this misunderstanding.

I was refered here by another mate from SAgamer. Hello all my first post lol.

If you are planning to take money from people why no at least tell them when you do so? Am i not making sense here ? Am i not a valued client? Now the R 100 penalty will become my responsibility?

www.mygaming.co.za www.hellopeter.com www.sagamer.co.za https:twitter.comkeomawright https:www.facebook.commyopenweb I will post all of the tickets between myself and OpenWeb and take this public. (PERSONAL DETAILS) My attorney above has advised me of the following: 1. Debit order facility req needs to be sigd by client not internet 2. Debit changes req 10 WORKING days 3. this pross is req by the automated clearing bureau and baking reqs 4. nothing more deflecting from the above is legal 5. Clients must be advised of decuctions prior to chose date. I knew i would get a generic reply from Open web treat clients like this because you think you can? I really thought you guys were awesome till now but i guess im just a digit. Could you have not said that for the inconvienienced caused open web will discount me on the grounds that i will now pay penalty fees with the bank? So i think i have a solid case here.

Hi Grant, Pro rata debits deduct a few days after your account is upgraded. Normal debits deduct on the 1st working day of each month Kind regards Leon Client Care Executive

I understand that it is pro rata thats not the problem here my debit order is set for a date and i expect that payments go off on that day open web have debited me on a date prior to my chosen debit order run date. where was i advised in all of the tickets that my debit order will go off prior to the normal debit order run date. I get paid on the 27th of each month and i think im being treated unfairly here. I pay my accounts each month i have never skipped. I have refered so many people to Open web so far and this is the treatment i now get. Leon i would like to be a customer with you guys for as long as possible please dont let something this silly allow me to take my business elswhere think about it there was no warning that i needed to pay prior to the debit order date if you had told me i would have made sure its done.....

I GET PAID ON THE 27th of each month I was on a 2mb gamers bling account and upgraded to 4 meg gamers. Now this is where things get strange i get a sms this morning saying R170 was deducted now the debit order with you guys goes off from the 1st of each month since i left telkom to join you guys. The payment has bounced and now there are penalty fees i have to pay fnb how can this be sorted out because it is very unprofessional to not advise clients about this u can see all my accounts are paid on time and i only get paid the 27 th of each month. How is this going to be sorted out.

Mr Beep...... thank you so much. Well i hope they get back to me, at the end of the day its more the feeling that my business is not welcome at OpenWeb thats all i mean i went from 2Meg-4Meg in good faith based on the service i got from OpenWeb which has been outstanding.

At the end of the day im probably not going to get much joy out of this but like i said i will go public on most of the forums i belong to. Everyone might not take this as a serious issue but it could sway certain potential OpenWeb clients.

Hi Venom,

I'm not sure I understand your intention. Is your intention to have the matter resolved, or to damage the OpenWeb brand?

It seems like you have your heart set on posting negative items on the web regarding OpenWeb, because of a pro rata deduction you agreed to?

I need to understand the core intention here?

Think it was wrong of OW to deduct an amount from your account IF you were not notified or IF it had not been agreed upon. Having said that, I don't see why you are basically trying to hold them reansom. So if this issue is not sorted, you want to put off other clients from joining Openweb? I think you should just post constructive criticism and let people decide for themselves, instead of threatening to slag off the brand.

Hi Beep,

No not at all. Please understand that OPEN WEB HAS BEEN OUTSTANDING in terms of getting back to me on issues. In general I get full speeds 80 percent of the time. Remember i could have gone and posted on Hello Peter and wherever else i wanted to but i didn't because my buddy told me before I do that there is a helpful chap by the name of Mr Beep on this forum. You see that's why i came here firstly. So no…… I don’t want to damage Open Webs image in anyway. Hopefully this can be resolved by legal and then I’ll be happy end of story.

If i were to go public it would only be based on my experience with Open Web today. I was told about the pro rata(once again not the problem). My problem is that i have authorised that Open Web can take money on a certain day and because i was not told that you can take of money prior to this it has caused me problems with unnecessary money that I now have to pay FNB.

The way that my e-mail was handled was also not very professional it was really upsetting when the problem was not massive. We are all consumers and we should get a level of respect.

Hope this clears things up Mr Beep.

Nope not at all dude. I’m not holding them ransom the point here is that i now have to pay FNB, penalties and crap. So somehow i want OW to come to the party here.

I have not been negative about the brand in anyway. I have only been praising them the last few months. If I am not assisted then i will merely share my experience with others that’s all. It’s all the truth in any case. If any company wants their money and you don’t pay they will sort you out good and solid but as a consumer? Yes i have all the right to share with the community. If I post lies and so on its a different story. Hope you understand.

OW does not charge pro-rata. they take the new account - the old account. thats not pro-rata. thats calculated on how many days of the month is left. they just charge you the difference which is wrong.

2013-08-01 SERVICE AGREEMENT NETCASH OPENWEB R 109.00
2013-08-23 SERVICE AGREEMENT NETCASH OPENWEB R 117.00

this is when i went from 1mbs standard uncapped to 2mbs gamers king. so there is no such thing as pro-rata at OW. they just charge the difference. no matter when the upgrade happens. its unethical and it needs to stop. or stop calling it pro-rata.

I actually can't remember what happened when I upgraded. But you right, that is not pro rata. Although, you could have been the only one that experienced this?

Ok, the reason why it seemed like you were going to make it your mission to badmouth OW is cause you said you will post on every public forum. At the very least, I agree you emails were not well responded to. If you are with OW as long as I am, it becomes a norm (the email support that is).

when i wanted to go to everyday uncapped now they were going to charge me R69 "pro-rata". 2mbs gamers king R226; 4mbs everyday uncapped R295. you do the math.
