Sorry friends, this is my fault. I failed to introduce cableguy.

He will be helping out on the forums from time to time as our newest online team member.

Don't worry, I will be around as much as ever! I just need a little help. You are a tough crowd :)

If you email [email protected], we will be happy to take a look at your issue.

Oh, yay!

OpenWeb just reset my port, and while things aren't flying along as they usually do, I am no longer getting time-outs :)

Guess it's all these holiday makers that are back!

Sounds great, on condition that replies aren't a stable "If you email [email protected], we will be happy to take a look at your issue."

Hey, what's up with my internet connection? It's been dropping every 20 minutes or more. It's been like this since my line got upgraded to 4MBps and it's getting worse now. I thought it might be due to my old router (Billion W40) being faulty so I bought a new one (Trendnet) for R1K yesterday but it didn't fix the issue :( I have made sure that all the filters in my home are connected.

Here's my ADSL stats (It doesn't look great :()

Downstream.......................Upstream

Current Rate(Kbps)----4096..................................512

Max Rate(Kbps)------- 9064..................................868

Noise Margin(dB)------10.6...................................14

Attenuation(dB)--------47.....................................26.5

Output Power(dBm)---7.......................................11.5

Openweb, I hope its not only me but i can only browse local sites, do speedtest locally but im unable to access, All international sites are unaccessible !!!

Me too, :/ also what is the difference between the different gold accounts?

Hey Openweb people,

My international speedtest is 0.1mbps *down*, what the hell? Local is okay at 2.8mbps.

Everything international is super slow, is there anything happening.

This is usually caused if the connection between your exchange and your router is not good enough for 4Mbps.

Ask Telkom to drop it down a bit to stabilise matters

Wow...

So my new account is on IS and guess what? I can't browse anywhere :/ whereas on the Mweb/Tiscali network I was browsing without a issue. My own personal thought on this matter is that IS is your issue since that seems to be my issue...

Case in point IS speed test results attached.

*sigh* Anyone recommend anyone else? Or am I going to have to go back to Mweb?

Started experiencing slow speeds (browsing + streaming) last night, but did not make much of it, but it's more of the same today. Been running speedtest multiple times to JHB, Int and CPT servers and constantly getting around 400kbps and it's evident when browsing/streaming.

Generally happy with the service I'm getting and this "slow down" (or perhaps shaping) is the first I've experienced in 3 or 4 weeks.

Will send mail to support if the problem persists.
