Openweb 1mbps uncapped on 2mbps line



Axxess 1gb prepaid on 2mbps line

 
Hey MrBeep,

I sent an email request on Friday to have my account cancellation request revoked.

Will I be able to keep my account from next month until the forseeable future or did I send the email too late as I have heard nothing from the cancellations department besides a reference ticket number?

EDIT: Support escalated my query with the cancellations department and marked my request as high-priority :)

I was under the impression that one simply cannot compare a capped vs uncapped account as the capped account will ALWAYS be faster, but there's definitely something wrong with the speed you are getting on your uncapped account.

mine too, after-hours and weekends is extremely fast (full speed) but from about 9:00 to about 17:00 it is literally unusable during weekdays.
 
MrBEEP I just want to say that today has been awesome! :D Diablo 3 Public Test Realm has been running smooth the whole day and streaming has been top notch! If it carries on like this I am going to be asking for a upgrade! :D
 
On what account are you one and what's your line speed?

Thanks for all your help with my account via PMs. After trialling a Gold (Power) 4Mbps account since Friday, I realised it's the way forward for me. Gamer's King was not a good fit for me as I work from home.

I've just completed the upgrade to the Gold (Power) account and it's all smiles on this end:

My best Speedtest result yet. Browsing and email at full speed too. I even got cheeky and streamed YouTube in 720p. And all this during office hours... :D

I have a 1Mb Gold Leon account. Some days the speed could be better, but on average my internet speed are far from unusable. (knocking on wood) :)
I guess it could be your exchange or this is where the low contention ratio comes into play. If you are referring to p2p downloads, well then that is a different story.

I only p2p after hours. during the day i just want to brows webpages, watch a youtube video or check my email. that does work or is extremely slow. after 17:00 amazing speeds on everything

That's true. But it can still be used as a test to see if if it is ISP/account related or not.
 
Today - just browsing was as painful as having the mother in law around. I did ask for the upgrade to Gold (Power) from gamers about a week ago, but am not sure when this will take effect.

Last week daytime was not too bad, but today I am back to dead slow. I will mail support and well ..... hope for the best.

With MWEB I never had such daytime slow speeds, and switching over to AH daytime speeds are excellent.

As recently as last week I had Telkom check things out and reset the port .... this while Leon was checking out things from OWs end.... (and of course asking to go Gold (power).

Is the daytime shaping protocol just not too stringent?

At this point, I can appreciate those folk that rant on this forum .... it is really frustrating.
Its like Lead (powerless) Edition.

I have a question during the day time when i do a tracert everything is 100% fine but after 6.30 everything goes bad 600ms plus from the 2nd hop already does that mean exchange congestion or my port is really dying ? cause i thought during the day it should be bad and night time should be fine

Have to be honest here ... I was having a chuckle at your misfortune ...

But karmas a beeeeatch ... oh yes .... Karma gave me a slap on the cheek today.

So, to sort out that karma thing ... I wish you a truck load of bandwidth on demand, and I hope that you find that your second uncle twice removed actually owns the Seacom cable and has left that to you in his will, :D:D:D

Depends on your area. If you live by businesses, then day will be bad, if you live in a residential area than night will be bad as that is when everyone gets home from work.
