Well the good news is that I wont be putting a drag on the network ...... I don't need to download Thor.... :D

That aside, the missus has planned my weekend for me and it involves tile adhesive - the only thing I will be downloading is tiles :(

The really bad news for me is that my OW account is cooking with gas at the moment. :)

Nice router - will swap you for my Netgear DGN 2200.... :D
On a more serious note, I personally have had good experiences with the R1000 + D Link, Linksys and Netgear routers. The Billion that I have is somewhat ok, but has limited range and the two Belkins I had kept dropping and were generally poor for range.
This is only my personal experience. :erm:

Maybe other OW folk can offer some advice or you can start a thread.
Either way - keep us informed.

From experience, I've found the Asus DS12NU to be the best. I hardly ever switch the thing off. It ran at least 3 months without the need for a reboot. This is going from a TrendNet router that's sold in every other store. The TrendNet needed 3 boots daily. The Asus router costs about R700 at Esquire. Not sure about latest pricing though.

If you only need speed between 6pm and 12pm at night don't get the capped freedom.
It's useless during those time. Fine during the day tho strangely. Mornings are best.

Do you think they would de-prioritise futubox streaming? MrBEEP ?
Is futubox also on normal streaming which is why Afrihost seems so much faster?

I am paying for the service and it's not illegal (as apparently Netflix is to OW) so as much as monoscum/BSTV will hate the fact I get the SciFi channel in HD after they canned it, I would assume the monies I pay them get to Universal studios. (And if not it's not OpenWeb problem to play internet police and .to country should close them down I would think).

I got in contact with the telkom planner guy for my area, and my box is due to be cut off to a brand new MSAN they are building nearby, making 40meg a possibility. Do you guys have any plans to offer any 40meg services?

I have been using freedom capped unshaped account for the last few day between 6am-11pm to give my star rating (with another ISP) a break and I've had no issues.

I don't use futu but netflix is streaming HD no problem.

I hear the DNS service can impact this, maybe try another.

Capped has no priorities. All traffic is treated equally

Why can't you have just one person on helpdesk over the weekend seriously. I can' t get into my account so no internet and farking nobody to help!!! &$@ ing hell

What time did you contact the support team? I thought they stepped up their presence over the weekends.

BUT...OW REALLY, REALLY, and I mean REALLY need to step up with support. I don't want to hop from ISP to ISP but when I have a problem over the weekend I need to get it sorted. I don't want to sign up for a WA acc on my phone (which is enough frustration to drive you up the wall) to be able to get on MBB so I can get a result. That is how you loose goodwill, quickly!

BTW, I have not recieved a reply on either my e-mail lodged through your website or the R2 SMS yet, and it is getting to be close to an hour now. :(
