I think it's time Openweb cracks a bottle champagne from all the new customers they gain, now just remember keep us happy like you do now and you will crack more champagne each month :)

Out of curiosity how many new clients have you signed on since the lovely move?

Now that would be telling....

I can however confirm that ALOT of people who were unhappy, are now very happy :)

Is there an international outage I am unaware of?

I've sent a support request, just wondering if I'm the only one.

3.4MB / sec speedtest locally, 0.18MB / sec speedtest internationally

Hi blunt,

There are no outages currently.

All is running well. I believe support has replied to your ticket.

GF reports wow latency has 201/204ms :D decent latency during business hours. Feels good to be back with IS. Thanks MrBeep.

Yes thanks, problem with the account, got a new one and all sorted :-)

I seem to recall other OpenWeb users in the past getting new accounts if they had poor speeds or problems. I have not heard about it happening to other ISP's, though I could just be ignorant. Is this normal?

Moved onto a different backbone, or perhaps refreshing or details somehow. MrBeep would be better suited to answer how it works.

I was playing WoW last week during the day and got 160 latency for a few hours. I couldn't believe that latency to EU could be so low. It was awesome!

A few years back we were used to latencies of 300 and 400 to Europe.

Im okay with anything around 200-250. When it go's over that i started getting slightly annoyed.

Hi Mr Beep,

Why do some ISPs, also on IS, allow accounts cancelled before the 25th of the month to stop at the end of the month but OpenWeb requires a full months notice? I'm concerned if the service isn't as excepted I'm stuck for two months however if there is confidence in the network there shouldn't be a worry about users wanting to leave the network. I would sign up today if I knew I had that option.

Thanks.

I'm a vanilla uncapped user so it's IS backbone no matter what. This is the third account I've had this month.. one @mynetwork.co.za and two @openweb.co.za

As far as support has told me my other account will be investigated (why it went slow), but this one is now my new account so I don't have to wait for it to be debugged.

Other ISP's that I have been with do not do this (MWEB/Web Africa/Afrihost) from my experience. I assume it's due to OW not having much control over the network itself so rather let the customer continue while they deal with IS on the debugging..

Coming over to Openweb forsure , my old ISP who shouldnt be named , AFRIHOST/MTN/NEOTELL is just terrible , cant wait untill the end of the month
