So... need to cancel my uncapped account emailed support, support tells me to email cancellations so i click forward to cancellations and cc support just in case, i get another response from support telling me to email cancellations, back and forth, round in circles and still no feedback from cancellations... They are quick to sign you up but the moment you want to cancel... there is a long and complex process designed to throw you off cancelling... not impressed with openweb at all tbh...

For the last week I've been struggling to get an answer from [email protected].
I've even called but the knowledge and feedback, how can I say it "just not up to standard"
I'm on the 1Mbps ‘Gamers Delight, Downloaders Right’ – Limited Edition Uncapped ADSL but getting speeds of 4kb/s all day until 5pm.
I would like to know if this will change if I'm on the Gold Uncapped, I moved to Openweb from Afrihost after the MTN issues. I was with them for a couple of years now but Openweb Qos just doesn't seem the same.
How can it be called uncapped if I'm so heavily throttled during the day and this account isn't even 1 month old yet..

Last time I had this random slowdown, they needed to reset my port. No explanation as to why or how this would make a difference. I had to switch router off for 30min, after which browsing speeds returned.

During all of this, news server access remained 100% Strange.

Same problem here on a 2mbit Uncapped Gold account that is not even a week old yet. Resetting my port has not helped. Still trying to resolve the problem with support...

You issue was related to your Telkom exchange. I believe Charmaine is dealing with the issue.

Just wanted to thank Openweb for their quick and painless service. Just converted my 6mbit gamers delight package to the 10mbit silver package. Looking forward to some good speeds!
 
I also have been having speed issues this whole week downloading 20 kbps on a 1mb line, still waiting for a response from openweb.

I believe your issue was related to your port? Please update us.
It was resolved for 1hr and then the shaping started again... I've honestly given up and given my notice for termination of my account.
I'm going to give MWEB a try, currently the 7 day trial account shaping looks good during the day for me.
 
Since I moved from Mweb 2mb uncapped to Openweb 2mb uncapped gold last year October, I've had nothing less than top performance. Openweb FTW!
 
Signed up on silver uncapped promotion, no response from OW? MrBeep, sent you a PM, also no response from you? I'm sure this doesn't take longer than a day?
 
I'm just unhappy that I get shaped down to a maximum of 14kb/s during the day of the Downloaders Gamers Delight Promo.
If this wasn't the case I would be more than happy to stay, but feel that's it's not worth the money if this is the shaping I receive during the day. I'm referring to Port 119 newshosts.

If i may ask how much are you paying for this package?

Why not upgraded it to a Silver Account?

If someone can let me know if upgrading it to silver will give me full speed during the day or at least less shaping then I will upgrade it. I'm using the MWEB 7 day trial and it's full speed during the day.
