It's driving me insane. :wtf: I'm trying to read the comments, and I keep on reading it incorrectly because he/she is using the wrong word. [T.R.I.A.L. It's not difficult]

ROFL, don't worry friend, you're not alone. Drives me up the wall as well. I had a good chuckle at your comment :D

Hi Arksun,

Has this query been resolved?

How long does openweb take to respond to email?

Perhaps MrBEEP, if you're here, can assist. Im currently on a promotional vanilla account and im keen on switching to the gamers king account currently on promotion. I phoned the number on the website, got instructed to send an email and did so. This wad at around 12:00-13:00. No response yet. Can you assist with this? :)

Speeds and performance back to normal. Way better than it was the last two weeks. I can actually use my account during the day again.

@Grizz: When did you cancel the account? A calendar month is a whole month, thus if you give notice on 1 March then the contract will be cancelled end of April. If you gave notice on 28 February then it will be cancelled end of March.
I feel that it is not necessary to do so... a few pages back - MrBeep was all like "Not our fault your ISP holds you for that long - but that is kinda of hypocritical.

Logic = I cancel 3 days after the 28th - I wait 30 days more? Thats not logical and is kinda of milking money from people for no good reason - Why is it that only afrihost get that - I have had 2 experiences like this.. one with WA and now OW.

WA did eventually agree with me and offered me a refund but cancelled the account straight away.
Which is fair because my OW account is dormant - I cannot use it until i get my telkom line - Its not like im taking anything away from OW.

2months is rubbish - Some ISP's should learn to keep clients happy.

I do plan to return to OW - but honestly if i find a equally as good ISP without the stupid 2months cancellation period. What have i got to loose.

Anyway what makes me annoyed is I made a post here aswell as sent support an email - I get no response as if they ignoring me.
Ill wait throughout the course of the day - but if it means taking it higher than support to management - I will do so.

Hi Grizz,

Please refer to our Terms of Service regarding the cancellation notice period.

A copy may be obtained here: http://www.openweb.co.za/terms.pdf

We cannot waiver our terms of service, as this is the concrete holding our business in place.

Other ISP's have no issues doing it...

Anyone in management / public relations that can give me a non-generic response

I refuse to accept for a OW account that is NOT in use - to be cancelled - waiting 2 months.

Your words not mine.
I would rather place blame on your current ISP than on OpenWeb, as they are not releasing you from your contract.
Dont say this if OW have the same policy's

oh yes the account performed lovely vs the trail again last night....

Bit the bullet... went for the Openweb Gamer's Delight package... Seems like a proper good deal for 4mb/s uncapped at R396

You agreed to the terms and conditions when you signed up, now accept it. If you didn't like them, you shouldn't have signed up. Stop expecting every company to waive their policies the moment a disgruntled customer comes by.

Geeze, the entitlement attitudes of some people hey.

Hi Mr. Beep and the Openweb team
Have been having problems with speed on my Gold 10M account for about 2 weeks now.
Finally was resolved by Dane a few minutes ago and all working as it should - eisch, she is now flying like a Boeing:D
Thanks Dane, much appreciated:)

Anyone have any idea what streaming is like on this package? Are services like youtube and gametrailers subject to the shaping policies?

I can also pull a dick move and let the debit order bounce.

By there policy's a dispute should be mediated. I do not accept that OW are milking money for an account i do not wish to have.
If they can create an account within minutes - they can cancel one.

In there terms it says what you say yes.. but paying twice? screw that. Im not going to let this go.. ill go through every avenue of OW if i have to until they can handle a "pathetic" R179 loss to the company

Kindly refer to the Dispute Resolution clause in the Terms of Service.

Kindly contact [email protected] so that we can setup the mediation process.
