What is bugging me about DSLheaven is that some sites do not open and then a few hours later they do, and then they don't again (cannot contact server) News24.com is one of them.....etc etc I long for VB....

Yeah, the websites not loading / timing out problem still exists on VB, here's hoping they solve it soon, if not, I'll be forced to jump ship perhaps, but will still persist with it at the moment.

Switched to DSLheaven for now, and so far so good. NNtp 320-360Kps (haven't tested @ midday yet), streaming good, youtube good, testing gaming pings now.

I'm a fan of VB, but since the timeouts on websites began again, i moved to DSLheaven and must say its working like a charm.
Might stick on heaven even if VB are fixed. So far i am enjoying it.

HTTP downloads fly, sites load fine. Tried news24.com it also loads.
Sorry don't do news servers.
Also not a huge gamer.

But so far all is good in heaven.

Another positive report, mmmm, I'm really keen to try it out, think I'll send MrBeep a mail tomorrow :)

VB Still running strong on my side. No problems with gaming, news servers or browsing. Maybe it's a regional thing?

Been on DSL heaven probably 2 weeks now. Been brilliant. Loved VB, am loving DSL heaven!

I'm on it now too (until VB gets sorted).
Local latency to non-WA is not too awesome, but everything else (including international) flies.

True, have noticed that too, however, on Ps3 MW3, game "lag" seems to be good. So a little strange in terms of latency vs actual play, but latency does seem higher on test than say VB was.

I've had major issues for most of the day.

All my downloads especially from file hosting sites (filesonic, depositfiles etc.) seem to be throttled big time.

Speedtest throughput looks okay (http://www.speedtest.net/result/1659935059.png) and general browsing seems fine (including youtube) however when doing a test download from nvidia.com or amd.com I'm battling to sustain a measly 4.0 KB/sec on my 1MB Gold account and when pulling something from file hosting sites I barely get over 3.0 KB/sec.

I've emailed MrBeep. Hopefully he can help.

Thanks for sorting me out MrBeep. Things are looking much better. Will keep a close eye though.

Excellent service as usual.:)

I've been very impressed with my 1MB Gold Uncapped. That Megaupload issue I had is fine now and I get excellent ping.

great product, great service

so so so very glad the days of dial-up are over - just think of the problems we have here and there with adsl compared to a dial-up!

best decision switching over to OpenWeb 384 earlier this year - does what i want when i want just about all the time. here's hoping SA speeds go up, prices come down but the great service with OpenWeb stays the same :D

Any news on VB? Using my 3gb account but don't want to be moved to other backbone :)

Ta
Guz

I am on the std uncapped 1mb line and when I download now at 10:30pm I am getting approx 5kb/s for nntp/1 click file hoster etc. Is this normal because my old mweb account was hitting close to 100kb/s at this time

What is happening here
