Openweb uncapped ADSL feedback

I've spent the majority of my OW time on VB. I use a ftp server (Netherlands).... even a single thread runs at maximum speed (>75% of the time). Only reason I moved was some latency issues with Mweb gaming.

Anyone else's IS international sucking the big one today? OW Silver UC

Switched to BCS and all is perfect :-)

Does anyone know if you can check your usage stats on the bcs accounts and where?

Thanks, I just like to see how much I use for interests sake :-)

Got a vast array of computers here - Apple, Ubuntu and Windows based.. along with some smart phones, so I'll have to get something at my router level

VB's behaviour has been a bit off lately, International latency has been very high for the past two weeks and browsing is sometimes a pain...the only thing that is running very well on VB at the moment are my downloads.

Anyone with a working DSLHeaven account? Last month 4meg has been running at 1meg. Seems very strange since i gave notice of the account, now everything is limited to 1 meg?????

My DSLHeaven is running nicely at 4MB... but I've noticed this morning when resetting a load of old routers to get them ready for a clearout sale... 192.168.1.1 is reachable via DSLHeaven, strange?

Yes, it is R899 per month and yes it's dependent on your line speed but hell, this Uncapped After Hours account is sweeeeeet!!!

I think there just may be an issue with international traffic....my local is fine (IS) but my stats is all over the place for international sites.

Guz

getting a speed of 48kb/sec via HTTP with a bcsnet (openweb) atm...thats same speed as old 384 line...whats the use of upgrade to 1mb line? And support dont mail back after 3 emails....

Flame, where you from btw? I'm wondering if this is a regional thing.

Although.. I was getting crap speeds from VB last night, then OW put me on DSL Heaven and I was blazing for a while, now it's back to 40kb/s on some things.

I logged into my server at work which is DSL Heaven too, seem to get good speeds there.

Getting 20-90Kb/s from Steam (Mweb/WA servers) .. been trying to download Alan Wake since last night. sigh.

I'd like to know if the shaping/prioritisation that WA do effects OW customers.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say yes it does, from what I've seen. Definitely not running full speed 24/7, I can download about 4GB +- and then it slows a bit down, but after about 6/7 hours or so have passed, it goes back to full speed again. I'm pretty sure the same shaping rules apply for DSLHeaven accounts. If it's not the case MrBeep please respond, because then myself and the other DSLHeaven users would like new accounts :D
