Openweb uncapped ADSL feedback

Nah, I mean I was back on my backup 2gb Mweb account while waiting for my Openweb account to get sorted.

It was pretty stressful having to monitor everything I do as I often use at least a 1gb a day simply on browsing, watching vids, etc. :D
 
I've now moved to OW gold uncapped, what are the speeds that you guys are getting when you are downloading from astraweb on a 4meg line. During hours and after hours?Just trying to set a benchmark for myself here (using the dslheaven backbone)

It will depend on the shaping implemented on the backbone (DSL-H in your case) and the port you use (SSL/119,etc). I'm on 1Mb but I generally get linespeed on mine.
 
I'm using the normal port 119, with no SSL, and got a speed of about 220 over the weekend
 
Hello, Does anyone know which is the best backbone for online gaming on Openweb Gold. for FPS MMO etc

International: DSL-Heaven.
Local:
>IS and VB is really nice for those.
>DSL-Heaven for WA servers.
 
VB and DSL-Heaven been struggling all day for me. :( Need to move to IS or something. Any recommendations?
 
Stay away from IS if you want to remain sane during the day. Int is shaped heavily during office hours. VB and Dsl H are best. Generally get full speed. What are you struggling with?

So I thought too. They told me they've got a new "profile" and it's certainly better. Much, much better now.

Keep us posted on the performance.

On the "previous profile", I struggled to download my roster in excel format, but streamed Youtube at 720p. Told myself, never again.

Are you guys talking about IS now with regards to the "new profile" ? And when did this "new profile" kick in ? And is it also still heavily shaped during business hours ?

OW moved me back to IS after having issues with DSL-H. Said they got a new profile or other on Friday, so I tried it, and I'm actually able to use my linespeed during the day now.

Edit: Just not on NNTP. Today that's being shaped to 50KB/s. Https seems fine.
