Openweb Uncapped Unshaped LITE

It would be easier for Randhir to go to Mweb. They seem to suit his needs better.

d7e7r7, if your account is working, why would you want to leave? We would miss you too much!

Why must he leave and go to MWEB?
Should I also leave and move to MWEB then?

d7e7r7, Randhir is also not happy with the product; thus he was advised to move. He also did not take my advise last month, after he brought up a similar issue, to upgrade to Gold. You seem happy, so we would definitely not want you to move :)

Ok thanks, was just wondering why he might leave...
Had no real problems so far... any problems I've had you've sorted out quick quick!!!

You say I've been in and out of the 20% group, is there a way for me to check this?

As I am sure this will find its way to MyADSL anyways, I have advised you to signup with Mweb on their R219. Their product will suit your needs better.

Firstly, I never said I was going to make public your emails and your attempts at 'customer service'. If you would like me to, let me know. Secondly, I have had above par service from OpenWeb most of the time, but the way you handled my problem tonight was shocking to say the least.

d7e7r7 has done 30GB, after entering and exiting the 20% bracket a few times already. How he manages this, is his bonus. He might be a very lucky person.

Clearly a lie, d7e7r7 had no idea that he was ever shaped, and if he was on mybroadband and is a downloader, clearly he would know if he had been, as he would have reported it here. As he has never noticed by his reply:

You say I've been in and out of the 20% group, is there a way for me to check this?

Let's also not forget that you told me that if he did do 30Gb this month, he was either on the Standard Uncapped, or 'lucky'. Well, he is clearly not on standard uncapped, so this must mean that OpenWeb 20% bracket must be completely arbitrary, and that's what i was complaining about.

How can one person do 10 Gb and be shaped, and another do 30 Gb and not be? Does that make sense to you? And yes, d7e7r7, was clearly not shaped, he still has full line speed.

Our Lite Uncapped product is not designed for heavy downloading. our website does advertise this clearly. For heavy downloads, I would suggest our Gold Uncapped 384k for R318.

You heard it here first, folks, 10 Gb in 16 days is heavily downloading, but 30 Gb in 17 days is not :D

Lastly, to d7e7r7, so sorry bro, I'm not trying rat you out, I just think it's unfair that we're on the same account, yet we're treated differently. I'm not trying to get you shaped, I'm trying to figure out why me and others are getting shaped while some are not, we just want what you have, I think that's fair.

Hey!!! If I end up getting my account shaped to hell and beyond I'll know who to blame and come after :mad::mad::mad::D:D

Well, there are ways of bypassing shaping that he obviously wouldn't admit to if he doesn't want his account to be canceled. :)

I'm not an Openweb user but I'm gonna stick up for MrBEEP. The amount of time he puts in helping people is really, really great. A true testament to the type of person all companies should employ.

No, I did not handle this situation in a shocking manner. You purchase an account that does not suit your needs, now you are blaming us for that decision.

I gave you the estimated average figure of 7.5% as a favour to you based on MY caluclations. Clearly, trying to help was a mistake, as it ended up in a "OpenWeb's service is shocking" thread on MyADSL. I calculated that figure to try and assist.

As I said, Mweb will much better suit your needs Randhir. They will even throw in a debit order for you, which will make your payments so much easier.

Herewith information:

384k:
Lite Uncapped, if you do in total, less than 20GB's per month, this account should suit your needs.
Standard Uncapped, if you do between 20GB and 40GB's, this account should suit your needs
Gold Uncapped, Any usage, if you want a superior experience, this account will suit your needs
Platinum Uncapped, even Julius Malema will appreciate this package.

Hold on a second.

Did you tell this customer that his uncapped downloads would be capped below 10Gb?

With this mysterious 20% of a figure in my head type of restriction, nobody can decide whether they want your product or not. That's an inherent unfairness and should be taken up by the relevant regulatory bodies.

If you didn't notice it, then you aren't really using the internet much beyond browsing?

No. I told him he was in the 20% bracket, and the average on that day in that hour was 7.5% according to my calculations, which is an estimated figure. This was around a week ago. According to my calculation, the average for Lite currently sits at 15.4Gb's.

If Lite does not suit your needs use Standard, or Gold, or Platinum or Platinum Unshaped. We are very clear about how Lite works on our website.

That's not what ended up in your service being shocking, you know what did. I say again that if you want me to post your emails, please let me know.

As clearly evidenced by d7e7r7's 30GB in 17 days  Odd that some customers get different rules applied to them. Or was he 'lucky'? Weird that I've asked you the same question so many times but you keep avoiding answering.

Hey!!! If I end up getting my account shaped to hell and beyond I'll know who to blame and come after :mad::mad::mad::D:D

Haha, thanks for understanding dude.

1. You never told me it was an estimated figure.

2. So you shaped me on Thursday - three days ago - according to average usage from a week ago???

3. Still doesn't explain some people getting shaped and some not.

this whole 20% is a bloody joke. Randhir, do yourself a favour, listen to Mrbeep. Move to Mweb. He doesnt want your business. Move to mweb and you will definately be much happier. I am with Mweb and have not looked back.

Perhaps d7e7r7 is using different applications than you are. He was in the 20% bracket, as stated. Then left it. Then went back into it, and then left it again. How is that different to how your account was managed? You entered it, and then left it. You are currently out of the 20% bracket, thus I still do not understand what the core issue is?

I doubt that, he was in and out of the 20% bracket and never noticed once? AND managed to download 30Gb?

And please, don't answer selected questions, what about this:

This 20% of a secret figure you might have made up is simply BS.

A user should know before they buy your product how much they can download. It is allegedly uncapped, yet it's clear there is a figure beyond which you cannot go.

As explained, it is managed by Internet Solutions. We do not make up figures. We resell what they provide us.

We sell on many various backbones. If LITE does not suit you, choose one of our packages without a FUP. LITE is an entry level product, for folks wishing to browse and do their emails, and some mild downloads. It is not made for downloaders.

I still do not understand what the core problem is? You were shaped for 24 hours by IS, because you hit the average on that day. Then unshaped. What is the problem? How can I help? What can I do with your already unshaped account to assist?

I use Lite for home, and was shaped a few times, but mostly am getting unshaped speeds. God, if I was mrbeep I wouldve kicked randheeeeeeeeeerr up the rear a long time a go. What a snotty little twat.

I have never had bad service from mrbeep/ infact, it will take you a long time to get a CEO that is so dedicated. You usually end up talking to a stupid tech support aprentice that only knows how to reboot a computer.

Nice on Mrbeep, you tell them how it is

I've been through 2 threads in a row and Lounger is attacking the ISP in each :|

Rhandir, why don't you bother reading what I posted. It perfectly explains how you bypass the shaping. If you want me to name and shame how it was done here:
You IP trace the download and substitute the IP for the website name. Your p2p download is now http.

Happy? That's how he bypassed shaping. MWEB cancel their users contracts when they find people doing that. So obviously (like I said before) he won't admit to this and will probably flame me now.

If he didn't, then he got lucky and good for him. Otherwise, sigh.

Just epic facepalm of epic proportions...

On a happier note:

Platinum Uncapped, even Julius Malema will appreciate this package.
Julius would appreciate anything platinum.
Nah, platinum's white ;)
