I also have slower boot up times. But then again with the SSD it is still so fast it's like saying a Porsche is slower than a Lamborghini :p

I think SSD has pretty much become a pre-req for OS X. I had to go back to a regular drive due to a swop-out and nearly died of frustration. SSD must be the best investment one can make on a mac.

Ah yes, there is one issue I noticed and that is Dropbox Finder integration. Doesn't work yet, but that's up to Dropbox to fix.

Possibly the wrong place to rant, if so, please redirect me.....

How retarded can you be to require an update to Yosemite to utilise iCloud after upgrading to IOS8 when Yosemite is not yet available?

My daughter uses Pages for her school notes and now cannot access the Pages files via iCloud on her Mac any longer.

The workaround is absolutely hilarious - yes, you can access iCloud on a Windows PC - I mean :wtf:

That was very strange that Apple pushed iCloud drive. I would have at least expected that they would update Mavericks to support it if they can not wait for 10.10. I do remember during the upgrade, that there was some mention on iOS that you should only enable it under certain circumstances, but I think most users would have enabled it. Isn't it possible to disable it if you accidentally turn it on and would it then go back to it's regular old behaviour?

I am more annoyed about the iOS8 GM taking functionality away (I liked the SMS continuity and was really looking forward to try out Healthkit, which I have not seen working ever during the whole iOS beta).

Just saw that public beta 4 is available.

Anyone running it? Going to get it going tonight from home.

Ah nice, will update tonight also.

I noticed a weird bug where my mouse cursor would disappear, then I would have to click on the status bar then it comes back. Anyone else seen this?

My gut feel is that Yosemite will be out before the end of the month. Apple already asking for apps to be sent to the App Store for Yosemite

Been running it since yesterday afternoon. Seems slightly smoother. I've seen reports that this might be - or is very close to - the GM build for release :)

Well they do give you a massive warning before you convert to iCloud Drive for this very reason.

But yes it would have made more sense to do this FROM Yosemite instead of from the Phones which came out first.

So basically you didn't read it?

It's a full screen prompt without any other options, so yes its massive.

Updated as well. Finally updated my iPhone as well. Continuity does not work for emails. Phone calls are going through and we have to wait till the end of the month for SMS' to be supported.

Make sure your iPhone and Mac's bluetooth is also switched on. Everything works for me except SMS's but they did say that it is not enabled until the launch of Yosemite.

Yeah, I never have bluetooth turned on for my iPhone. It works. SMS should be working sometime in October.

I signed up for the Beta Program, but haven't installed yet.

Looking at the screenshots - I'm not too stoked about the look of the new dock, going backwards in time to the early days of OS X. The Finder does look a lot happier though. :)

Public beta 5 is out. It's a smaller (100mb) update.

They're getting closer to the release.

Yeah, I'm guessing with the next event on the 16th of October. Apparently new iMacs are also coming with the updated iPads.
