OT: ANC Elective Conference

So Zweli Mkhize is in the NDZ slate? I always thought he was opposed to the Zumas if anything given his treatment - fired and then sacrificed for prosecution. But now he's apparently been promised Fin Min by the NDZ slate and that's why he pulled out. Meaning we'll get Mabuza as DP.

Eish!

Indeed. Looks like we'll never be rid of the corrupt premier league whether their slate wins or loses.

It does looks like a done deal if it is indeed true that Mkhize has joined forces with the NDZ camp, 193 nominations from the EC plus Mabuza's 190 looks like a bridge too far for Ramaphosa and Sisulu.

Source?

I see. The MG says he was offered Fin Minister on Ramaphosa slate.

Weird...

The sources privy to the matter said‚ in terms of the ongoing discussions‚ Mkhize‚ a former premier of KwaZulu-Natal and health MEC‚ has been earmarked as the next finance minister‚ should Dlamini-Zuma win the presidency.

so basically Jacob Zuma will still be in charge?

Basically yes, downgrade to total junk status early next year, massive interest rate hikes, etc. The only thing we can hope for now is if the people vote the ANC out of power completely, but they'll most likely rig that as well.

We are a strange country. You are a minister of health, then a minister of sport, then a minister of finance. If we honest here, that is just ridiculous imo.. Anybody can be a minister of anything, doesn't matter if you have the experience or not within that sector. JeezUS

And therein lies the problem. Senior jobs are given to deployees based on "struggle credentials" rather than skills.

We had a president with a standard 3 education.

The joy of political appointments, the only consistency we've had has been in the Ministry of Health as well as MECs in the provinces, excluding the likes of Qedani and a few others.
