The only thing you should be worried about skimming through the comments is stick drift. I guess it should pickup fine as a xinput...
 
Would wait and try pick up a PS 5 controller for R 999 (On sale every now and then)

Logitech controllers F310 also decent for you budget
 
If you can get a PS3/4 controller and a cheap BT dongle, with SCP software it works perfectly.
 
I've got one of those Xbox One controller knockoffs

Think it was about R700 from game

Works brilliantly, battery lasts fsckn weeks.

I use REWASD for remapping and custom sensitivities on the sticks in certain games, great bit of software, used to use x360 but its got various issues with various games.

Got the controller today. Tested it on Jet Set Radio, Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy and Forza Horizon 4...

Works like a dream, is nice to hold, analog sticks are smooth as ****...

Really can't complain. 8/10
 
If you looking for something budget friendly and long-lasting, I've had IPEGA 9076 for years now and still going strong. The only slightly annoying thing is that you have to get remapping software like Rewasd for it to work with most games.
 
I still have a wireless Xbox Controller I bought back in the days from BT Games. Works great for racing games. Paid R600/R800 back then. See they are now double in price.
 
Also, please stay away from very cheap knockoffs. You pay much more on replacing them in the long-run. A second hand quality controller is far better than those cheap knockoffs.
