Pensioner needs help with 8ta data

Hi all. New here and most likely stupid when it comes to connection issues, so maybe a stupid question....
I have just changed from Telkom ADSL to 8ta Mobile wireless connection for my home PC. I changed due to constant hastles with the ADSL and COST. So far I find the wireless connection much faster and more reliable and costing R 160 as apposed to R 440 for the ADSL.
The question I have is: Is there a way that I can see how much of my 2 Gig monthly data I have used for the billing month to date? At the moment I have no way of seeing how much data is still left in my monthly bundle.
Simplest solution to this would be appreciated.

Hi Joker. Yes, I"ve got that. It only shows me the bundle available for the month. The figures do not change as I use data through the month. What I am after is how much data has been used month to date or how much is still available until the end of the month.

It is the first of the month (you get new data).
Check tomorrow again. If I recall correctly, the website only updated now and again...

What you connect with is it called Mobile Partner?
Take a look in the Statistics button up the top

Also if that's the program your using & it has USSD available you can send out command *188# & it will give you your balance.
OR Text button / SMS 188 & that will return an sms with your balance.

You can do this by installing a 3rd party application.Maybe someone here monitors their daily usage and can give suggestions?

Windows 8 does have a metered connection setting. Perhaps that will also help?

Currently we do not have a way of showing your daily or monthly data usage.

We do have the following options and suggestions:
You can register on the Self Service portal (http://www.telkommobile.co.za/login/)
  • (On Network you do not need to register and only shows basic information)
  • From here you can see the remainder of you data bundle(s)
  • So we can only suggest that you view this on a daily basis (maybe in the morning before you start browsing or in the evening, just before you disconnect)
  • This way you can keep record of your usage.

You can also view your data bundle(s) available via the USSD code *188#
  • All balances will be sent to your device via SMS’s

Please note you can use the statistics from Mobile Partner, but it is not accurate.
