Good evening everyone,
@Hisense SA I've been experiencing some weird problems which could be firmware related, however from what I've read it could also be a problem with High-Bandwidth Copyright Protection ("HDCP").
Any feedabck from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
I bought the
Hisense 50" 4K UHD Smart TV LEDN50A6100UW during a January sale on Takealot and I'm really happy with the quality for the price I got it at.
Problem is that as soon as I started streaming content via Youtube/Netflix using my PC or PS4 the screen would go dark and you can still hear whatever's playing in the background. I am able to recreate the issue 100% of the time as it always occurs the same time regardless of which video I'm streaming.
I had a workaround with my PC where I changed the aspect ratio on my graphics card (Nvidia GeForce GTX 970) and it was fine for some time. Note that I could never apply this same workaround with my PS4 so that I only used for gaming.
Fast forward a couple of months and after recent driver updates to my graphics card I am once again stuck with a black screen during certain parts of the content I'm watching.
It's incredibly frustrating and I have tried all the updates as per the Hisense website (none of the methods to update the firmware works as indicated on the page...shocker).
From this forum I've noted that there are however different firmware packages that could work.
My current software version is
VA002.01.00aI0929.
I've tried the firmware on the website and I was provided with a link from a Hisense representative but as mentioned neither have worked.
Thanks in advance.
