[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

for what tv?

I'm having an issue with my hisense 50A6100UW where it keeps disconnecting from my WiFi resulting in Netflix not working.
I have to sign out of NF and power off the TV, power up and connect to WiFi and sign in to NF again.
I tried doing a firmware update from the TV but it said it was up to date.
I have seen a few posts on here that the firmware can be updated via USB, can anybody help?
The TV says software version V0000.01.00a.I0929/2016.1.2

Hi @Hisense SA

I'm having a problem with my 55A6100UW Television. Since the firmware update a week ago, several apps and the TV's ability to play any video via apps appears to be disrupted. The DSTV Now and Youtube apps load videos infinitely with no playback resulting. The Netflix app, when opened, shows a black screen and then crashes back to the app selection screen. I have tried unplugging, resetting the app data via settings and a factory reset - none of which have fixed the problems. The previous firmware which was functioning perfectly so this has been incredibly frustrating and there are no links to download and reset the firmware manually.

Hi, I am having the exact same issue, I updated my tv this morning (as requested by the tv) and now none of my apps (Netflix, showman etc) are working. I have rebooted everything, I have cleared the cache. I would rather go back to an older version.

I have a 50a6100uw

firmware currently is : V0000.01.00a.J1219

Long shot in the dark, but does anybody know where I can get the best firmware for the 70m7000?

its available from hisense support helpline... I think its version H1230 but keep in mind its not going to be south african firmware. You will lose Showmax (not that anybody really uses it). I had this firmware on the 55M7000 for HDR but it really didnt work well with the TV. TV would reboot on its own and Netflix HDR content would freeze and it had terrible colour banding. I reverted to version G1216. They didnt have the original south african firmware anymore, but im not having issues with G1216. It does activate HDR so that if you plug in HDR content it will allow you to choose HDR... but this version doesnt allow Netflix HDR. Hope that helps.

This is the first mention I've seen of HDR weirdness but I've experienced bad HDR from the start. Any HDR content on my 55U7A has shimmery magenta highlights like someone didn't apply their sparkly makeup properly.

I have a 55b8000 and if I plug my pc into HDMI 2 it works fine with 4k 60hz and hdr however when I plug in my receiver via ARC into HDMI 1 then HDMI 2 switch off then on again but no HDR I'm using HDMI 2.0 cables any idea why HDR won't work when I have both plugged in?

Is the receiver 4k capable?

The receiver is not 4k capable, however, the pc still does 4k just not hdr @ 60hz if I change the refresh rate to 30hz it will do hdr + 4k but flickers.

Maybe try using optical toslink cable instead of ARC to take sound to the receiver from tv optical out. Most sound bars work this way

Hi all.

Bought a 55B8000 end of last year, mostly from great advice on this forum.

TLDR review: GREAT picture quality. Okay software.

It seems this tv is the same as the H8F (oversee model naming), which has Android OS.

Can the 55B8000 be run with H8F firmware?

Thanx for great info on this forum.
Regards.

Hi everyone,

Looking for advice, I'm interested in either the Hisense 58A6100 or the 55B7100 as things stand. The 58" appears to be cheaper than the 55" at Kloppers, is there a quality difference between the two that I am missing?

Or otherwise if there are any other recommendations around the R7k price point please let me know.

Thanks!

Sadly I doubt it.

Only the B7100 and the B7200 locally have Android TV as OS (afaik). You won't be able to change the firmware.

Thanx, was hoping it could be as 'simple' as a firmware flash.

Would be great if it was the case...

`do you call them?

I ended up buying the 55B8000 tv. Using a soundbar via bluetooth which for the most part had no issues, but sometimes audio will go out of sync.

I tried changing the lip sync settings but that doesn't appear to do much, should I rather use an Optical connection between soundbar and tv? Or has anyone else also experienced this issue and was able to resolve it?
