correctOK cool I'll take a look at the firmware versions and so on. I don't believe it's had an update since I bought it. Thanks @Hisense SA, appreciate this feedback!
PS: I'll have to update it via USB, correct?

I also had to put a soundbar on mine. Sound is really that terrible. With the soundbar though, and for the price I paid for it, it's worth it though. Too bad 4k video kills my data allowance in a week.I didn't know there was myBB reps from Hisense. Because of this I didn't take note of the model.
Bought a tv at Game in September 55" UHD for R7999 on special.
Sound quality - Horrendous. Had to buy a soundbar and didn't know the soundbar's volume depends on the tv output, so that was a wasted R1000. Thanks Hisense.
YouTube and Netflix came pre-installed. Kept on crashing non-stop and I had to reset the tv every time to get it to work.
Took it back, the diagnostics said it was the screen, lol. Ok. They said they couldn't fix it and gave my money back. Paid R8999 for a Samsung 55" UHD and I'm very happy so far. Just incredibly upset that I now have a soundbar I don't need anymore.
LED TV's are notorious for bad sound? It's kind of in the nature of a TV as the speakers are tiny to fit into the slim bodies. I've got an old 50" and a 58" Hisense and the sound isn't that bad. Yes nowhere as good as my old Samsung, but the TVs are far far slimmer.
Loudness doesn't bring quality though. I suppose it also depends on the model of the Hisense, by the sounds of it you went for the N3000.My Samsung is the exact same size as what the Hisense was, just a bit heavier. Sound is at least 3 times louder.
A close friend of mine has the Hisense 50A6100UW (R6.5k retail)
I have a Samsung 55NU7100 (R10k retail)
Brother has a Hisense 65A6500UW (R15k retail)
I've watched quite a bit of 4k content and played 4k games (Xbox one X) on all of the above.
A6100UW
Picture: not great and HDR seems to not be activated with certain content
Sound: Not great
Media: No issues with playback from USB (interface not great)
App store: Very limited
NU7100
Picture & sound: Massive quality difference compared to the A6100UW
Media: Some 4k titles buffers a bit at first.
App store: Great app store with Netflix and DSTv apps supported.
A6500UW
Picture: Noticeably better than the Samsung
Sound: Not as good as the Samsung
Media: Many titles simply did not play (A6100UW handled it way better!)
App store: Decent (more apps available than the A6100UW like, Plex, Kodi etc.)
I tested some of the same games and movies on all of the above from the same console and USB drive.

What model of Hisense, I've had no errors on Netflix, no lose on Wireless (unless it decides to swap to the bedroom AP).No. Samsung sounds way better.
Hisense sound is OK. Certain shows/apps have to be at max volume, but thats rare.
Their firmware is super crap thou. Constant errors on Netflix. Loses internet wireless settings randomly.
Firmware updates do not help.
It's great as a dumb TV thou. Mines is paired with an Nvidia Shield. My Google Home Mini (Thanks @rpm) switches on the Shield and TV together (HDMI CEC) which is great!.

Hisense 55-inch (129cm) Ultra HD Smart LED 55A6100UW
Netflix error: ui-800-3 (100018) about 3 times a week.
That's the entry level model as per @PsYTraNc3 post.
I've got an N5000 and no issues, a buddy has an M7000 and no issues with Netflix.
Same. Then you have to deactivate the app and restart it and set it up with username and password from scratch.Hisense 55-inch (129cm) Ultra HD Smart LED 55A6100UW

Entry level or not. It should function as presented without issues...
Going back to Samsung/Sony when this TV bombs out.
