[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

You should look at the B8000 honestly. 2 people seem unhappy with there Q8600's.
The B8000 does well with any kind of viewing really, and the brightness is pretty good.
I don't think we can get freeview play here unless I am missing something.

The B8000 has VIDAA, and its quite good. Most of it is smooth, except for tracking on DSTV now, but that's probably a DSTV now problem. Android TV will have tons more apps available to install, but I don't see the need for more then what is on VIDAA, it is a TV after all.
Hi Bradley - thanks for the info mate, the B8000 is on special at GAME for R7 999, looking good

Guys how do these ULED's compare to Samsung QLED?
Depends on content for me.

Budget content like dstv is normally better on the samsung.
Dolby vision 4k content will look better on the B8000 and Q8600, then the samsung Qled, as Samsung does not support dolby vision :P

So I have a problem, but i'm not sure where it is.
I currently use both Smart TV apps and Xbox apps for viewing content. (Netflix, Youtube and apps for viewing things off a USB drive).
I have one of these connected via the headphone jack on the TV. https://www.takealot.com/microlab-m105-2-1-subwoofer-speaker/PLID45283273

The problem I seem to have is that the audio seems to change drastically during different scenes in movies etc, to the point where content goes from nearly inaudible, to blaring massively in things such as gunfights. I wouldn't mind this so much if I was in a house away from neighbours, but unfortunately my lounge wall is right next to my neighbours.
This is the first time I have had semi decent sound (came from a logitech Z211 and before then plain TV speakers) so i'm not sure if this is the speakers or the TV, as I have never had this issue before. I have played with the TV settings, but nothing has helped.
Any suggestions to fix this, or at least minimise it a bit?

EDIT: Oh, I have the B8000 as that's probably quite important :p

I pulled the trigger on the 55Q8600. Very happy with the screen. Maybe I should make an owner's thread so there's a common place for firmware downloads, etc.

EDIT: Q8600 Thread

How is the B8000 on DSTV content compared to the Q8600? Which one is better based on the average DSTV now input

Sorry I can't help as I haven't bought yet. I wanted to ask you since u have the B8000 are u happy with the set generally? And can u record to USB or external - and from what streaming service? I just don't know how that all works - I'm upgrading from a non-smart TV!!

I haven't tried to record on the TV set directly, I just haven't needed to.
I am very happy with the set, very very happy. Definitely one of my top purchases this year.

Because the headphone out is supposed to be used on headphones... Not a line input into a speaker system.

HI @Hisense SA

Please can you assist me with 58a6100uw which i recently purchased online, Dstv app just circles, Unable to turn off auto dimming which is super annoying , Please can i have the latest Firmware/Software update, Currently on software version V0000.01.00a.J0603 which is not very smooth has alot of Lag

I've had the B8000 for about 2 months and honestly its all the TV you could ever need. The 4k image looks nice and crisp, the colors pop well considering its not a quantum dot tv, it has deep inky blacks. The Dolby Vision and HDR performance is great as it produces enough brightness (700nits) to show off HDR as compared to the B71000 which only tops out at roughly half that brighness. If you compare specs with the Samsung Q60R quantum dot tv on RTings.com you will see the Hisense has it beat.

The tv also upscales 480p/720p/1080p content rather well, so its a good tv for DSTV content as well.

I was VERY surprised by the black levels. I keep having to check if the power is off when the scene goes to fully black
