If you are an Axxess ADSL subscriber, please rate them on performance (speed and latency), support, value for money and overall satisfaction

Please also tell us how Axxess can improve to make you a happier customer.

I pay R496 for a just uncapped 4meg account. I am unshaped youtube and IS's Steam server, and just about any protocol that is not torrent or file sharing sites. Best of all, I can login at two places at once. I regularry pull 60-70 gigs a month off Steam, youtube in HD and IS's usenet. It is fantastic for that price.

Best of all, local pings of 11ms (I've only ever seen better on fiber), and international pings of ~190ms to UK. Games are fantastic, WoW runs great on insane huge raids and I can play international games on my xbox without a hitch.

5 stars.

What could axxess do to make me a happier customer? Not much, but they could convince IS to host a local Origin server... that would speed up games from EA's release platfor a lot!

Thanks axxess. You have one very happy cusomer here.

I've had my ADSL data account with Axxess for over 5 years now and I've never had issues with their service or offerings. When I switched my line over to them from WebAfrica, I had way more problems getting WebAfrica to release the line back to Telkom than with Axxess's processes.

And they sponsored my local cricket ground.

5 stars.

I've voted "2 – Bad (worse than expected)" for three ISP's (WebAfrica, Mweb, Afrihost) and one Axxess "3 – Fair (exactly as expected)".

The current situation still sucks!

Performance (speed and latency): Didnt get the best latency/speed in my games which was purpose of why I used them before I found Afrihost with better prices/latency

Support: Was average helped with simple problems but was clueless when there were techincal problems

Value for money: Not too bad priced for apparently unshaped accounts apart from no 2 for 1 gig special like Afrihost

Overall satisfaction: Good (since its great for most things except for competitive gaming)

Cant think of anything which would of changed my experience

I have a 4mb uncapped account.

There is no monitoring facility for the adsl usage regarding the fair usage policy. I have to email axxess to find out my star rating / or i have to find out through slow browsing that i am throttled. This is crazy.

A monitoring facility would be excellent and that would give users a good idea of how much they are using, and they would find out when they will be throttled, roundabout. That would make fair usage even more streamlined and it would enable more bandwidth to be allocated to other users since everybody would have a good idea about their usage.

Otherwise, i'm pretty happy.

Performance excellent on Localplus

Test conducted on 10 March 2012 03:33:49 PM
Download Speed: 7702 kbps (962.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 825 kbps (103.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 103 ms

R 855 for a 4Mbs Uncapped and 8Mbs line per month. Never had any major problems only when Seacom went down last year otherwise very happy with them.

Axxess is pretty cool.

Had them for a while now. Don't really have problems unless Seacom goes bang

Performance - Have an Axxess and Afrihost account. Changed to Afrihost as I could get 11GB for R99. Still keep a 1GB account with Axxess. I have on more than one occasion found Axxess to be faster than Afrihost. Especially noticeable when watching videos

Support - Had to use them once or twice. Not as slick as I remember Afrihost to be (years ago though).

Value for money - R19 per GB is good value for money. Just wish they also more regularly offered 2 for 1 top-ups like Afrihost.

Performance (speed and latency): Pretty decent performance. Downloading is a pleasure.

Support: Support was always helpfull and prompt.

Value for money: Pretty Decent as I use a 1Mb uncapped account for a total of R545 (incl line)

Overall satisfaction: Good, I dont really use it for online gaming, but I am sure its fine if needed.

Ive switched between Openweb and axxess over the last few years and they are both good, unfortunately the uncapped packages supplied by IS have ruined the "uncapped" adsl experience, and shows under performance and value for money.
Performance 2/5
Support 4/5
value for money2/5
overall satisfaction 2.6
If the IS star rating system was removed or 80% less ridiculous then Performance and value for money would be 4 or 5

I think Axxess is excellent I have been with MWeb Afrihost the best of the Axxess the reason being is the shaping does not kill me and the service is excellent each time I call them

great ISP - 5 star.
Support is excellent
Juice was a nice plus, although with only a 2gb account I dont get to use it very often
Pricing is great, although I would like to see a few more specials like afrihosts 2 for 1 etc.

Impressive and hassle free service = 4 plus for me.
Have recommended Axxess often and those who moved over are equally pleased.
Agree the 2 for 1 specials gives them the cake.
If not for better - don't go changin'

On the Axxess JustUncapped 4mbps and only have one problem but it's a big one. During week days the speed slows down to between completely useless (as in can't even check if I have new email never mind actually opening any email) and fighting to view a simple image because it times out half way through, simply doesn't display or at best loads more slowly than an ancient fax machine.

I'm not talking about being throttled to a certain speed, I'm talking about 0K to 6K speeds so many thanks to the free Afrihost 1GB account.

Excluding the weekday uselessness they have improved some, for example getting full speed after a certain time more reliably.

So voted: Fair (exactly as expected), though if the weekday speed was something useable, simply want to be able to browse during weekdays it could push up my vote by at least 1 point.

I have been with Axxess for over 4 years and don't have anything negative to say about them.

pros
Fast service and the person on the other end at least know something about their job (not like some other call centers).
Do not throttle bandwidth for no reason.
Reliable

cons
Email sometimes download slow.

I have a 4mb uncapped account and am very happy with the overall Axxess experience; it works for me.

I am pretty happy with Axxess.

No reason to move from them at the moment.
