Performance: Very, very reliable. Local speed - good (full line speed, 8Mbps) Int speed - not good (0.5 - 3 Mbps) Latency - fine for what I do, which isn't very dependant on latency.
Support: Fine, I guess. It's been a very long time since I tested it.
Value for money: Price can't be beaten in SA, although I'd like to see a steady increase in my gigs.
Overall satisfaction: Meh, some months it's difficult to stretch 20+30 gigs to last the whole month.

What to improve: Well, where do I start...
I want more gigs, faster international speeds and lower prices. In that order.

May I suggest a well priced 50 gig package with a significant number of local gigs (like 100) included. And when I say well priced, I mean compared to Do 3, which effectively gives me 50 (total) gigs for R 554, so maybe another R 200 for the extra gigs? Like R 754 including the 10 meg line. Oh, and the local must be usable throughout the month.

Edit: Some sort of prepaid offering would be nice. Theoretically, I could require a Telkom Internet account to use on someone else's line. Prepaid is the easiest way to provide for those people (kids using their parents line / room mates sharing one line but not one account / people who've had a heavy month and need a few extra gigs but don't need them every month.)

Performance - Generally pretty good, although at times it does seem to slow down a little. Been waiting for a line speed upgrade to 10Mbps for a while though, so hopefully they would do so soon.(currently 4Mbps)

Support - Varies depending on the problem and time of the year. Sometimes good support while at other times can take them a while to offer any sort of solution.

Value for money - Have a 20GB and for the price its good value for money, would like the cap to be bumped up a little for the price to make it a very worthwhile product

Overall satisfaction - Good/Very good. Its perfect for what myself and my family want to achieve.

People need to stop thinking Telkom Internet are the same people as Telkom...

Telkom Internet is an ISP and have no more control over line rental prices, line speed or the dreaded voice line rental than another ISP such as Openweb or Mweb.

This poll is rating Telkom Internet the ISP aka Do Broadband, not Telkom Telkom.

Make faster speed lines the entry level. I would say at least 1mbps for now.

The speed, support and latency is great. The abillity to use as cache server grately increases speeds during peak times. The only thing that needs to be improved is the line speeds for lower end ADSL customers

Line 4mbs/10mbs - Subscribed to 4096kbps profile

Performance: I get more than my advertised speed, currently syncing at 6mbs, but telkom insists it can't be cause my exchange can't handle that speed.

Support: I never have an issue with support, i call and they respond either on the phoe or technician comes out the next day.

Value for money: Think its getting better offering more data for your rands, yes I have been with telkom since the introduction of the 4mbs profile, and never looked back my line was down maybe twice once for 3days as they were figuring out the problem second time 3hours for exchange fault.

Overall satisfaction: Extreme High never had a single issue with them, even with regards to line faults or breakages.

I wish they would offer a wider selection of products.

No real ADSL problem in a couple of years.
I upgraded from 384 to 1024 two weeks ago. It took them more than 2 weeks to respond to my query made via their website, but once I gave them the go ahead it was done within half an hour.

Telkom Internet 1Mbps

Often lose my IP address and have to reboot router/modem a number of times to obtain new IP address. However, my real complaint is not really an Internet issue, it is the unreliability of my Telkom line and the time it takes to fix it after reporting a fault. Being told, ' when the next technician becomes available', is just not good enough!

on a whole I'm satisfied, to date I've had very few issues and I get the service I pay for but there is much room for improvement in terms of affordability.Customer service and technical skills of the call centre reps needs addressing

Best Capped account money can buy!

R15/gb on the 10gb R149 account, and there is 20gb local only when that is done!
Pings of 6ms to cpt, and 30 to jhb, speeds max out on my 7000kbps sync at 5.9mbps. Jitter is non existent, and although their support leaves a lot to be desired, it will only be once in a blue moon that you actually need it!

Performance - Very good - 4Mbps - I wish they could upgrade my exchange to 10Mbps

Support - Fast speedy support when my line was faulty, quick repair.

Value for money - I think the prices needs to be dropped , too expensive.

Overall satisfaction - Very good

Performance - speed is fine, contention ratio is really high, during peak times latency shoots through the roof.
Support - mostly good, some call centre technicians uninterested or not fully informed technically
Value for money - line rental is really high.
Overall satisfaction - not blown away, but I can live with things as they are for a while.

Performance - speed good at home but at work its terrible
Support - can be on hold forever
Value for money - line speed could be cheaper
Overall satisfaction - ok

I didn't expect too much and that is exactly what I got. Some days the connection on my 1mbps line is okay and other days you gradually watch the webpage load even though you're not using bandwith for anything else (automatic updates etc. are turned off).

Performance - Consistent speeds at all times on local and international - 1MB 8GB Limit
Support - Slow phone service but happy
Value for Money - Could be cheaper
Overall satisfaction - Satisfied

Performance - Some shaping during the day. Decent speeds on HTTP. Unshaped from 6pm to 8am - 10GB 384 Account
Support - Depending on the time of day it can be very busy. I like the callback function so you don't have to sit for long periods of time during peak problem hours.
Value for Money - The package isn't cheap. I would have to use all of my 20GB local bandwidth to get value for money.
Overall satisfaction - Content

I would be a happier customer if Telkom could upgrade 384 lines to 512. I understand that implementing 10/20/40mb lines will help us compete with the global market, but starting at the ground up will be a huge boost and make many South Africans happy.

Performance: I get the more than the advertised 4MB speeds, so more than happy there.

Support: I have not called their support line in a while, but the last time I called my problem was sorted while on the phone. The only problem is waiting so long on the line. Although they do have the option where they call you back.

Value for money: I have the Do3 package, so getting 20 gigs int/30 gig local for R131 is very reasonable. My sweet spot would probably be 35gigs (international), as I never go over that a month. Use other ISP to fill up the hole at the end of the month:D

Overall satisfaction: Very High

I have a 384 line now for years. I have found you cannot game on this line, and they choke your line late afternoon 2.30 t0 6/7pm and in the mornings until 10/11am so slow you cannot add an attachment of any size. Upload Photo's to face book during this time also impossible. I have also tried to get my settings in print form so as I can set up my Telkom email but they will not give it to you. I have tried to phone and get assistance with no positive results, given up. Looking to change over to either Afrihost or Axxess on the uncapped 1mg line which is far cheaper than Telkom's uncapped.
