PostBox-Courier.com how to

Ah thanks, thought it was a courier company.

Oh for the record, I compared the same item for sale on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk and the delivery cost from the UK was cheaper than from the USA. Of course stuff is usually cheaper in the States so you need to factor this into your pricing equation.

Oh and another thing, no more New York taxes as they are now situated in Jersey City.

Tomorrow will be a week that my parcel has sat with PBC, and I still haven't been notified that it has shipped.

Same here IzZzy, mine also reflecting it's not shipped yet. Did get a mail from them yesterday saying the website was having issues but it would not affect the actual shipping, so maybe it's that.

A week is a tad too long, have you queried this? I would expect parcels to get shipped if not the same day then the next day at the latest. I'm not sure who they ship with but every where you look in NYC or Jersey for that matter there is a UPS or Fedex depot, they like on every corner, unless of course they have alternative arrangements not with a mainstream courier.

Was just told a few minutes ago that my shipment will arrive tomorrow, and they'll let me know when I can expect to receive it.

Also got the same info that their systems were slow to update.

Hey Izzy, you get your stuff? My parcel is lost, no fault of postbox guys I think, looks like Fedex dropped it off at the wrong place. Maybe they had packed up their table in the parking lot so the Fedex driver just dropped it elsewhere, who knows...

Anyhow sending a replacement to their new address, hopefully this isn't a case of fool me once.....

Amazon have most package sizes and weights further down the page. Just use google to convert pounds and inches to kg and cm.
Often wrong though.

most sites that use free world wide shipping use postal service, so besides the 3 - 6 week delivery time frame you can wave bye bye to 2/3 of your parcels.
Some people just seem to have bad luck with the post office.

As with everything else in life, a splash of common sense prevents most brain farts.

So I was resigned to the fact the parcel was lost and was busy arranging to get refunded from the supplier when Gary emails me he sent his USA people to Fedex and they tracked the parcel down, That is seriously going the extra mile.

I wasn't too concerned that it had gone missing cause it was insured but this makes my life so much easier.

Now just have to wait to see if it arrives and lands at my expected costs, but so far they are looking good.

Nice! Agree, that is the extra mile... seriously good for you!

Gary said it should have been delivered today (but wasn't), so hoping for tomorrow!

Still no word from them or my parcel :( Finally reflecting as shipped on website.

I had to beg/steal/borrow the same machine parts in this shipment from someone locally (fortunately I was successful) else I really would have been in the proverbial brown stuff.

Note to self: Don't try out new shipping methods on urgent things.

Eish. Mine reflects as shipped too. Would expect it to arrive this morning (considering it should have been here yesterday) but no such luck yet.

MAJOR EDIT: Gary just emailed this morning to enquire if I received the parcel because it was collected by someone other than me (the mail room at work). Was delivered yesterday at 15h00. Buggers in the mail room didn't bother notifying me of a delivery. Big kudos on Gary for following up, really impressed!!!

I am curious: How much did you pay fro your shipments and how did the tax issue work out?

I paid no tax on an item worth R1800. Delivery was $70 but it was bigish. Go to the site and get an automated quote.

My stuff from the US finally arrived on Friday from the US, 8 days after they had received it in NY and I had paid for shipping. No taxes, it was under $50, I was not expecting any at that value.

It would just work out more than buying it directly from Esquire.

Hi Gnome

Are you sure this is right?

I know you got the Nexus 10 16GB, would you mind sharing with us what you paid for it? (incl. a breakdown of taxes/duties etc)

I would have thought that it would have been cheaper...
