Power Balance admits no science behind bracelets

I'm surprised we had to wait till post 69 for religion to be brought up.

Yes well, the bracelet is a sort of more fool-proof way of telling.

What is of concern is that people who may have a real medical problem will forgo seeing professional help in the misguided belief this will cure/fix whatever issue they have. Read post 65 and other Facebook comments.

Survival of the (intellectually) fittest comes to mind. It's difficult to really feel more than a minor pang of sympathy for people foolish enough to wear these things at the cost of their own health. The only real sympathy I have is for people these idiots force it upon instead of proper medical care.

Have you heard of "Mannatech"? My parents friends bombarded me one day I got home, they were VERY excited about it... I had a bit of a situation showing them all the facts of the BS online..

Another one is Stemenhance.. A doctor told me about this while she was stitching me up. I made a joke about it being multi level marketing and she became quite uptight... I searched it online and it was MLM BS. Lol, check out a blog called 'bayblab'.

Anyone have any studies on the Copper bracelets? I had a search online, but could find no studies on them.

I've said it before: it's an idiot tag--it lets your spot the dolts from a mile away so you know how much brain matter you're working with.

Keep 'em, let 'em wear 'em. Thank Power Balance for giving us all one of the most accurate ways to tell which people are worth the time of day.

Yeah, I'm actually quite torn about this. It's still a great point to make even if it comes off as a joke.
Fact is, while I hate this crap, I'd rather someone wears it than not if he's truly that gullible.

Another fascinating thing is that all the people I used to label as a bit .. err.. "dull" are now wearing one of these. I can now finally lay my "Competent until proven stupid" inner conflict to rest.
Calling people stupid in terms of religion isn't fun, it all gets way too personal and out of hand (not to mention all that tiring effort). With PowerBalance I now finally have the confidence to label people stupid as I see fit and proving I'm right seldomly takes more than one or two internet links. Even an modicum of High School Biology knowledge puts the isse to rest... Thank you Power Balance!!!!
:D

It's all in the mind, using the "Power" bracelet gives the individual just that extra confidence he may need to excel. It wont work with everyone tho.

Hmm, in that study they used the copper-only bracelet as the placebo. So that study doesn't really tell me if the copper was successful or not. Only that it had the same effect as the magnetic bracelets.

The reason I ask is because the logic around the copper bracelets are sound. One of the causes of Arthritis is copper deficiency. And the bracelets are supposed to help with this copper deficiency by absorbing the copper through the skin. BUT as far as I know, there have never been any studies to prove or disprove that the copper is actually being absorbed through the skin.

Anyway, sorry for going offtopic.

remembet Buffalos? cheap shoes?

So what did they do? Made a fugly shoe and charged R600 back in the days.....Poof....exclusive.....almost the same as Apple....

idiots...

When I was on holiday in Durban in May, a relation of some of the friends we visited was showing off with one of these things and wanted to demonstrate it on me. It made absolutely no difference whatsoever but not to be rude I just pretended and acted impressed :o

Does the placebo effect work though? Hell yes. It's still misleading advertising and pure BS.

My wife comes home one early morning after a night out at Grand West with her friends.
As she walks in she says "I am now convinced that this Power Band works. Since I have this I have not once lost money at Grand West."
She has been there at least six times since early December and has won fairly substantial sums and has paid for the band at least 30 times over.

Works for her. Works for me too.

From some of the post here one could think that science can explain everything.

Lucky you. Be sure to inform her that the majority of the population view her as a dolt thanks to the strap on her wrist.

Science might not have all the answers, but it has given us all the answers we have.

Why is there so much anger directed at people who choose for different reasons to wear these bracelets?

Now it makes you win money!!

Levitating penis enlargement money winning band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a sangoma..

You guys are blowing this completely out of proportion:

1. Someone made a crap load of money out of it - I wish I could come up with an idea like this
2. If people believe it works for them then who am I to spoil their happiness?
3. It makes it easier to spot and avoid idiots. So as the saying goes if you can't spot the idiot in the room just check who's wearing Power Balance.

Not anger. Pity and amusement by the truck-load, though.

EDIT

You're wearing one right now, aren't you? :D

Just makes it easy to spot the idiots.

Let them wear it. Then I know whom to avoid.
