Yes but that is exactly my point. For the console the game developer has to optimize the game for the Xbox or PS. For phones tablets, he has to optimize the same game for hundreds/thousands different variations. For pc their is even more different variations of cpu's. gpu's etc

That is why engines exist.... so you don't really have to care or remake a game for every system.
Unity/Unreal and loads more sell the idea that your write once deploy on many/if not all

Only time what you say would be true is if someone builds there own separate engine and don't touch any API's and honestly I don't know any game/dev that do that do you?

Main problem with engines comes to power, the more power you have the more assists you can call on.

Seriously though. Which games run better on the PS4 Pro than on the XBox One X? I was able to provide an example and I can provide more.

etc

How many examples do you want?

Yeah and no doubt the soon to follow (after launch days) Digital Foundry comparisons between SX and PS5 will have the same result in favour of the SX. And then I can guarantee you that we will be reminded by the Sony fanboys how their inhouse audio is somehow better or their controller has some new trick or wait for it....their amazing exclusives.

Xbox One X is objectively a faster console than the PS4 Pro, the only times I've see games run better on PS4 Pro than the Xbox is when the target resolution is too high on the Xbox (and is lower on the PS4).

There may be some interesting results with the new consoles though, they're actually more different in architecture than the previous generation. Will be interesting to see if the higher clocked GPU in the PS5 will have any benefits and it it'll make up at all for the lower CU count.

Question for the serious gamers here. If you order Cyberpunk for PS4, will you get the PS5 version free when you get a PS5?

Last of us, GoW, HZD, Uncharted, Spiderman - which console did they run better on?

And seeing as the One X was the third version of the console, developed solely to be able to claim "most powerful console in the world", it damn well should have been able to eke out a bit of a not-human-eye verifiable lead over the PS4 Pro.

Wanna bet on it? :)

Also, seeing as MS says most of the consoles they sell will be the XSS, should we not compare the PS5 to it instead?:giggle:

From what I could see you can get the PS4 version and play it on the PS5, but doesn't seem like you will automatically be entitled to the PS5 version? Same goes for the Xbox as well?

No, you will definitely get a free upgrade. On the XBox it's called Smart Delivery. Not sure how the PS5 one works but there's definitely a free upgrade. Your only problem with be if you buy a disc version and buy a PS5 digital, otherwise you should be sorted. The PS people can maybe just confirm.

I think its developer dependent. I could be wrong though.

Pfft, I was just replying to his blanket statement that games ran better on the playstation.

Oh its claim is true though. It is the most powerful console now, but most people didn't give two hoots in anycase.

Runs better, yes but it still runs ok on my PS4 Pro and it still looked stunning as well, RDR2, The Witcher 3 etc. Finished the game/s like any XBox fan would without any issues.

Here's an article on it:

So yes, like @Gamos said, the upgraded version will only be available next year. Which is a shame. I had to make a choice between AC Valhalla and Cyberpunk. Guess, I'll go with AC now and get Cyberpunk when the upgrade is released.

Have to admit, that's what most of us MS guys think ... It is the most powerful console now, but most people didn't give two hoots in anycase.
