Pupil guns down alleged bully

I think it is you who doesn't understand the plight of the bullied.

Also, he's in Grade 11. He would have had to endure another full year of the bullying ;)

The bully was in Grade 10, so he wasn't going anywhere.

Truth be told teachers are helpless and toothless against bullying as the bully will just transfer his bullying to where the teachers can't see. I've seen how bullying can break a teen and it is sad. Get your kid a tazer or pepper spray and tell him to use it as anyone would in self defence.

Where is the harm? If nobody does anything about the bullies then teachers, and parents, can't complain when a bully gets tazed!
 
I was also bullied in school back in the 90s by some older boys. it only stopped when my brother stabbed the two bullies with a pen. unfortunately they didn't die!! I hate bullying thugs, with passion! :twisted:

Get tazed, get expelled, get spanked, get anything but death. I wonder if the boy that did the shooting did it in self defence, or if he shot with the intent to kill.

Yeah I seem to have the grades swopped around. :o He would have waited another year then.

The problem is the law together with lack of discipline and common decency instilled at home. Teachers are pretty much powerless to do anything that will make the bully change his behaviour.

My point is that I think the "good riddance" attitide is a bit harsh. Death is not suitable punishment for a school bully,

If I was a teacher and I saw it happening, I'd give him a smack upside the head and be damned with consequences. It's happened before, it will happen again - there's no quicker way to teach a bully than to show him that he's not the only one that can bully!

Me too, but sadly employment is more precious these days than the consequences of this.
 
Better a dead bully than a victims suicide.

I've got no pity for bullies who get what's coming to them.

Cause and consequence is a universal rule. Sometimes the consequence is out of proportion to the cause, but that's the reason you shouldn't tempt fate.

Funny how people blame the lack of corporal punishment the reason why we have bullies... Wtf guys? Seriously? I'm pretty sure there was bullies even when witches was still burned at the steak. Prob bullies too :D.

Bullies have been there through all of time and will continue to do so till end of time. It's all about people trying to find their place in the chain. Some are stepped on and so on. By no means do I ever support bully'ng but kids need to learn to deal with these kid of issues.

Obviously when it comes to a point where it's no longer just being picked on and made fun of then sure, step in. But it's always the weak social guys that get the blunt end of the stick.

Why did you wedgied ones not stand together in school? An anti-bully club or group to assist fellow victims? Now you're all supporting murder when better and more moral options are available.

So you expect that kind of organised and well thought out behaviour from kids as young as 10 years old? It's also funny how you're criticising the victims while trying to protect the bullies. Weird.

it might just also be the wrong message to send out as well. sometimes it's a good thing that someone takes a stand but it can have devastating consequences in the long run if other children see it as a way out. we don't want kids to suddenly bring knives, guns or weapons to school to kill the school bully. i despise bullies but i don't wish death upon them as in this case.
