Rain and storm for Cpt

There was 15mm in our gauge in Kenilworth this morning. One of the wettest Novembers I can recall! It's dry now, but it feels wintery, with low clouds and a fresh NW wind. More rain is predicted...
Definitely, never experienced a November quite like this in CT.

That 15mm fell in just an hour or 2 of heavy rain, contrary to the forecast which predicted 1 to 2mm from 6pm onwards for a few hours.
Skies did look dark and ominous for hours from early eve but nothing....until after 8pm when the heavens opened and lightning flashed repeatedly.

The late afternoon visible satellite image (7pm on Fri 26th) shows cloud tops highlighted by the setting sun, with several isolated thunderstorms approaching Cape Town:

Those are nice flowers/plants. What are they?

I'll be honest, I didn't even notice the flowers at 1st and only saw the droll on the lawn, for a second there I had many questions

It's cold, windy, and cloudy near Table Mountain, with rain imminent. Your turn will come...

Edit: Bucketing down in Kenilworth by sunset. Feels like a real winter cold front!
And far earlier than forecast. Was only meant to start around 11pm carrying on until early tomorrow, but I'm not complaining .. months of hot, blistering, gasping heat coming with barely a spit of rain.

Source for this image?

I didn't post the link, because daylight images are only visible for certain hours, and glancing light only at sunrise and sunset. I previously posted the link for infrared images, which are available 24/7. Change the settings if you want other inage types:

It's still very hot, just got home from La Pinita on the other side of town, dry and humid there, got home and it's raining, but still bloody hot.

Light rain in Strand as well, wet, but not cold. It is colder than yesterday, yesterday it was pouring down, but it was warm.
